Jetpac Refuelled heading for Xbox Live Arcade
Microsoft has strung together a strong line of Xbox Live Arcade releases for four consecutive weeks with Alien Hominid HD, Worms, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. For its fifth week, Microsoft announced that Jetpac Refuelled will be headed to the Xbox 360 Live Arcade next Wednesday March 28th.
Jetpac Refuelled is a revamped and modernized version of the 1983 classic space blaster “Jetpac” which was a huge hit in the 1980s, developed by Ultimate Play the Game, a development house that was founded by Tim and Chris Stamper.
Gamers will get two versions of the game for their 400 points as Microsoft is shipping the “classic” 80’s version as well as a modernized version of the game replete with hi-def graphics and new weapons.
Jetpac Refuelled challenges players to collect the wreckage from your crashed spaceship while avoiding and shooting aliens which come at you from all angles. Once you’ve got the ship back in one piece you have to get some fuel and then fly off to another planet.
The game allows you to accumulate a fortune over the course of 128 hi-definition levels, complete with achievements, leaderboards and simultaneous multiplayer action. Compared to the original “Jetpac,” which included 16 levels, “Jetpac Refuelled” provides gamers with everything they loved in the classic, plus 128 new levels of enhanced gameplay.
Jetpac Refuelled can be played alone, or against another player on the same console or over Xbox LIVE. The game is rated “E” for Everyone.
