Black XBOX 360 Elite spotted on production line
By Jonathan Schlaffer
The much speculated about revision to the XBOX 360 seems to be pretty much a reality. The soon-to-be replacement for the XBOX 360 Premium system, the XBOX 360 Elite has been spotted on the production line straight from a factory in China. It’s possible that the XBOX 360 Elite is now closer to reality than previously thought.
For those who haven’t been keeping score the XBOX 360 Elite features a 120GB hard drive, which is barely visible in the pictures and HDMI outputs which are not pictured. Yes, they are black but they will not always be black.
After all the limited edition black XBOX 360 Elites have been sold, the Elite version will become a third XBOX 360 option next to the Core and Premium Systems. At this point, after all the Premium systems have been sold the white XBOX 360 Elite will take the place of the Premium system. For a time there will be three XBOX 360 options, the Core system, the Premium system and the Black Elite system.
When all the Black Elite systems have been sold there will still be three options being the Core, Premium and (white) Elite system. Keep in mind that when this point is reached, Premium systems will no longer be manufactured. Once all the remaining Premium systems are sold, there will once again be two XBOX 360 options, the Core and Elite.
It’s possible that the Core system will begin to include a 20GB hard drive but that is merely conjecture on my part. I mean if you are upgrading one of the XBOX 360 options, shouldn’t something extra trickle down to the Core system.
If only Microsoft could get it through their thick skull to start including the HD-DVD drive and WiFi on the Elite model, all would be right with the world.
My advice would be to take this with a grain of salt. As much as I’d like to think this is real, it could be yet another fake courtesy of the interweb. However, it does add slightly more credence to the rumor and brings the XBOX 360 Elite that much closer to being a thing of reality, just don’t believe it until you can pick one up on retail store shelves for the (rumored) price of $480.

Why can’t they quit it with the stupid colors and stick to the proper a/v ‘color’ - which is, of course, black?
Then they might like to consider the customer again and cut it out with the stupid shapes so we can stack our stuff in & around or under the TV.
Idiots.
