Wii-tracting wrist band resembles wrist guard for “challenged” gamers

Wii-tracting wrist band resembles wrist guard for There’s nothing like a good (or bad) third-party accessory to enhance one’s gaming experience. Hand Held Items has one particularly savory Wii accessory that just can’t go unnoticed, called a “retractable Wii sports cuff for remote control.”

Though I’m not quite sure where to start on this blessing to the Wii community, I am obligated to make an attempt. The “cuff,” which looks remarkably like Batman’s grappling device, is a dark black wristband with a string spool ungainly casing attached to the bottom.

Assumedly this attachment was designed to combat the late hash of Wii injuries and damages caused by aggressive rogue Wiimotes lashing out at unsuspecting televisions, sisters, and dry wall. Apparently Hand Held Items felt a thicker wrist cord wouldn’t cut it; any true gamer wants a retractable cable for a quick throw and return, right?

Either way, the accessory looks sturdy. I found the single review quite comical: A female reviewer writes, “Well designed sport cuff! High comfort, durability! Hope they will add some color to it in the future!”

I hate to make this observation, but going at the 40% discounted rate of $5.99, I highly doubt the discount is related to a new and improved technicolor line of retractible Wii cuffs. Just my thoughts, though.

Anyone tried this or know if it performs well as a Wiimote cuff? More specifically, has anyone tried repelling from your roof with it?
