Murders over PS3 continue
I would have thought that the general population would be over this by now but sadly and once again, humanity has proven me wrong. We all heard the horror stories surrounding the PS3 launch, muggings, drive by shootings, robberies and other types of destruction and mayhem.
It seems that someone in San Francisco didn’t get the memo and stabbed Hani Attia over a PS3. Attia noticed two women being attacked by a man who was trying to take their PS3 while they were actually trying to sell it to him. I don’t know the specifics but why would you try to sell a PS3 to someone on the street.
You wouldn’t buy something off the street in Baltimore or New York so the same rule applies here. But, if you must buy or sell something on the street, wear a flak jacket if you are able to acquire one.
Whatever the case, Attia confronted the man and was stabbed. Unfortunately, the trip to St. Francis Memorial Hospital did him no good where he was pronounced deceased.
I don’t know about you but I never heard of anyone getting shot, stabbed or killed over a XBOX 360. Maybe there have been cases and I haven’t heard about them but after searching for a few minutes on Google, I’ve come up with nothing so feel free to prove me wrong.
There has been at least one death that was Wii related so not even Nintendo can absolve themselves of these kinds of absurdities, although none of these companies are directly responsible for these incidents, it’s possible they could be held indirectly responsible by not providing enough consoles.
Or we could just blame some people for being stupid beyond reproach which works too. If you have any information regarding this incident feel free to contact the San Francisco Police at 415-553-0123. Both 1P Start and SFGate have more.
I don’t know if it’s the dumb or smart criminals that are more dangerous.
