Resident Evil 4 gets the power of Wii
Well, not really. The Wii is the wiikest (I couldn’t help myself) console on the market but nonetheless Resident Evil 4 is going to be released on it. Of course, I realize it debuted on the GameCube and was later ported to the PS2. While the GameCube version may have superior lighting (it’s brighter), it really doesn’t look that much better than the PS2 version. The only question is how good will it look on the Wii?
Resident Evil 4 is probably the only game actually worth playing on the Wii. Yes, it has Zelda, Guitar Hero and a smattering of other titles but Resident Evil 4 may be to the Wii as Halo/Halo 2/Halo 3 are to the XBOX/XBOX 360. I’m also sick of Guitar Hero news, it’s not my type of game, just like DDR, I was sick of it back in the day too. No one had better mention Guitar Hero around me as there is really no point and no objective to the game like saving humanity or killing all the aliens.
I expect Resident Evil 4 to look marginally better on the Wii but not by much, I can only imagine what they could have done with the game had they ported it to a REAL console like oh… say the XBOX 360 or even the PS3 (such as it is).
If you have a Wii and you want to play a real game then pick up Resident Evil 4 and please for the sake of my sanity, ignore all things Mario, it was great back in the 80s but in my opinion has stayed way past his welcome (as has every other cartoony game put out by Nintendo). Resident Evil 4 for the Wii has a release date of June 2007 with a price of only $30 so it won’t break the bank.
Change with the times people, change with the times.

Yeah that makes lots of sense. Twilight Princess, one of the best games of all time, isn’t what Halo is to XBox 360… but Resident Evil 4, a port that is a few years old and was on not one but two other systems, is Wii’s Halo. That makes so much sense.

Maybe I just need something I can understand… Twilight Princess was a good seller but I certainly wouldn’t buy a Wii because of it. It’s still kind of cartoony… so no… not really, not in my opinion.
Opinions don’t have to make sense.

umm i do belive the GC version of RE$ was far superior in graphics compared to the PS2 version. The PS2 version had a much lower polygon count and alot of detail was removed from the envirionments( i.e. missing trees) and rain was just ugly in the PS2 version. The only pro over the GC version was the added features of assignment ada.

Where did this blogger get his info? His ass? Having an opinion on something is one thing. Being completely dilusional on facts are another. GC version was superior in every way to PS2 except the bonus content. GC was more powerful than PS2. Wii is more powerful than GC or PS2. Very simple plain facts. Nothing fanboyish about it.

Not to be rude, but stick with something more within your grasp in the future instead of making a mockery of this site through biased and misinformed writing.

Wow. Twilight Princess Cartoony? Are you on drugs? Yeah, it dosen’t have prostitutes or decapitations or the right amount of obscene gore, so it must be cartoony, right? Makes perfect sense.
The PS2 version of RE4 having less jaggies?!? Oh my God. It likely had double the amount of jaggies. I’ve seen it, it’s hideous. Seriously, quit being a retarded fanboy and stop pulling false facts out of your ass.

No one is arguing the fact that the Wii is more powerful than the PS2 or GameCube, that goes without dispute. But it is difficult for me to tell the difference between horrible and awful graphics… everything just kinds of blends together after a while.
Like a game from five years ago compared to a game from three years ago (on a PC), I’d tell you they both look bad and I might have trouble saying which year each were made in.
I like graphics… but bad graphics are bad graphics, the GameCube is bad and the PS2 is bad but which is worse… that’s the question or that has become the question. It’s been a long time since I played either.

Just that the Wii is the weakest of the so-called “next-gen” consoles to which it doesn’t even belong… at least not as far as graphics are concerned.

I looked at screenshots online before I wrote this post, all I can say is this, both look bad and neither is better or worse than the other… maybe I’ll change it to that… it’s the difference of bad and worse, I’d be taking a guess at which is which and you don’t want me to guess, do you?

No, I don’t believe a third party game from Capcom is the “Wii’s Halo”. I wouldn’t even call it the “Gamecube’s Halo”, even though it is much closer to your analogy.
What about Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros, Metroid, or Zelda? Anything but a budget gamecube/ps2 port with wii controls mapped on it. The only visual improvements they made on it was pro-scan and widescreen.
Come on dude.
By the way, you can see what they will do with Resident Evil on the ps3/360 when resident evil 5 comes out. Genuis.

This guy is obviously handicapped in every form of the word. Resident Evil 4 is fantastic. Is it better than the new Zelda? Some would argue. What is indisputable, is that if you played both of them with an open mind, then you would see that they are both utterly fantastic.
If you are trying to tell me that SM: Sunshine, TLOZ: TP, or Resident Evil 4 all have “below average” graphics, then I have about, oh… millions upon millions of people who would disagree with you.
Why not port RE 4 to PS3? Maybe because that would involve developing the entire game over again completely. Capcom ported it to the Wii *because* it is only a bit more powerful than the Gamecube. And everyone here knows that it will be waaayyy more fun to play on the Wii than the 360, or PS3. “Change with the times”?? Button pushing is in the past. Think about it.

a complete tool with no viable references to back up his claim, simply stupid and wreckless

Cartoony games can be good games! wHAT ARE THEY TOO KIDDY FOR YOU? Go play Conker’s Bad Fur Day and your definition of “cartoony” will promptly be readjusted.

A Sony fanboy site if I’ve ever seen one. This is a common sentiment across other atricles on this site also. How very retro – Yawn !

“superior lighting (it’s brighter)” Wh-What?!? I’m not even going to go there. “I’m also sick of Guitar Hero news, it’s not my type of game, just like DDR, I was sick of it back in the day too. No one had better mention Guitar Hero around me as there is really no point and no objective to the game like saving humanity or killing all the aliens.” I’m still waiting to hear about Resident Evil on the wii… You fail to mention the control scheme which has been overhuauled, including precise gun control with the wii pointer. “please for the sake of my sanity, ignore all things Mario, it was great back in the 80s but in my opinion has stayed way past his welcome (as has every other cartoony game put out by Nintendo).” WTF.
