Analysts have one question about the sales for the PlayStation 3. Are they dead — or just resting? Today an analyst predicted that PS3 sales will take off next year as the console’s cutting-edge technology finally finds an audience.

I know a lot of people have had a lot of problems with their XBOX 360 consoles but many of those were early unit runs whereas I bought mine in late 2006. I have had no problems with it whatsoever (yet). The original XBOX 360 warranty was 90 days and was later retroactively changed to 1 year.

The president of Microsoft’s Entertainment & Devices Division, Robbie Bach (pictured), has lashed out against Nintendo’s Wii games console, criticizing the console’s weak graphics, lackluster performance and lack of DVD video playback. He also predicted that games developers would not be able to develop hard-core games for the Wii.

Considering you need a $150 card to run it, it’s not really free. I’m not talking about a fancy graphics card but rather the Ageia PhysX Processing Unit manufactured by Asus or BFG Technologies. Neither is really cheaper than the other so whatever one you buy doesn’t matter, they are the same thing but the Asus has a better heatsink/fan combo on it.

A top analyst at Wedbush Morgan Securities, Michael Pachter, has predicted that ultimately the PlayStation 3 (PS3) will be the winner of the console war, taking 36% market share in 2009, ahead of Ninendo’s Wii with 34%, and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 with 30%.

Prosecutors in Germany have started to investigate anonymous members of the virtual world Second Life after a German TV news magazine, Report Mainz, uncovered a virtual child sex pornography ring, where users would pay Linden Money, Second Life’s version of Cash, to see pornographic images of children and buy sex with other players who pose as children using ‘skins’ or ‘avatars’ in a virtual sexual practice known as ageplay.
