Church of England wants Sony’s apology for PS3s Resistance Fall of Man
Sony can’t seem to escape the limelight these days be it good or bad. The latest incarnation of this is the demand by the Church of England for Sony to apologize for using one of its churches as a scene in the PS3 game Resistance: Fall of Man.
The scene in question, I have been told, is rather graphic, gory and violent which takes place inside England’s Manchester Cathedral built way back in 1215.
In addition to a formal apology, the church wants Sony to take the cathedral out of the game and to aid the fight against gun violence in Manchester.
It’s not that the church wouldn’t have been willing to allow the use of their cathedral, had Sony asked permission but it did not and now there are consequences to be dealt with.
Sony has said the church will be contacted but it may not need to as the church has already spoken with someone at Sony and has sent the company a letter.
PC Advisor has located the scene in question on YouTube and warns users that Resistance: Fall of Man has a Mature rating so anyone under the age of 18 should not view the content. (And in reality, we all know how well the rating system works, don’t we.)
If you didn’t understand the image I used… it’s a reference to Ghostbusters where Peter says "no one steps on a church in my town." Make sense now?

I’d love to know which Priest was playing Fall of Man and noticed the Church. It’s good to know PS3 is in God’s house. Or maybe the Church obtained this information from a little boy. In that case I wonder how they interrogated the boy.
Don’t the people of Planet Earth have anything else better to do??? I can think of 70,000 things that are more important than bothering Sony about a game.

I suppose the PS3 needs all the publicity it can at the moment.
