They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and if that’s the case, Nintendo should be very proud. First, Nintendo released the motion sensing Wiimote for the Wii, and then Sony said its SIXAXIS would have motion sensing and now that same function has made its way to XBOX 360 controllers.

It appears that the 80GB version of the PS3 has launched in South Korea. It must have because there is only one reason to have scantily clad women around, it’s either a college party, trade show or a large corporation is launching a new product, my guess is that’s the case here. If anyone out there can read Korean maybe you’d like to help us out.

The Wii is the third most powerful console behind the XBOX 360 and PS3 (but which one of those is number one and two can and will be debated). It’s not the fact that the Wii is in third place but it’s a far far away third place.

I expect everything Halo 3 will be at the top considering that over 800,000 unique players amassed 12 million hours of gameplay during the 1 month beta trial, according to data that GameDaily acquired.

At last, it’s been said. Great games have evolved from summer blockbuster movies, and they’re great on all the major gaming consoles. Which left one lonely voice on Amazon asking that last unspoken question.

Amazon (yes, that Amazon) has released some sales data regarding the Wii, PS3 and XBOX 360 consoles. It doesn’t take an “Einstein” to figure out which one comes out on top, what’s interesting to note is how the other consoles are doing as consoles and as in total sales. I still cannot understand the appeal of the Wii except for the price point and it doesn’t play DVDs or next gen media or even have a hard drive. As more than a “casual” gamer, I may never understand it. Yet here we are with the Wii topping sales charts and now being pitched as a top father’s day gift.

Sony can’t seem to escape the limelight these days be it good or bad. The latest incarnation of this is the demand by the Church of England for Sony to apologize for using one of its churches as a scene in the PS3 game Resistance: Fall of Man.

Jack Thompson, that lawyer we love to hate just won’t quit, it’s hard to imagine how his family does not now loathe his very existence. He is on a crusade to put an end to gaming, especially violent gaming. On his list now is Manhunt 2 for the Wii. It doesn’t end there.
