Real Evidence: Metal Gear Solid 4 Coming to Xbox 360
Rumors are floating around the web of a possible Xbox 360 port of Metal Gear Solid 4 coming soon after the game’s release on Playstation 3. HMV, a large European entertainment retailer, is prematurely pre-selling the game on both platforms with separate release dates.
I think what is most interesting about this tidbit of information is not that the game is being pre-sold. Games get pre-sold all the time, but HMV’s pre-sell listing of Metal Gear Solid 4 offers specific release dates for each version.
The PS3 version will supposedly be available on HMV on April 18th, 2008. The Xbox 360 version should become available on September 26th of the same year.
The Xbox 360 version is only a rumor right now though! And it’s the kind of rumor that people tend to fantisize about but never comes true. Yet HMV either has some super secret, confidential information up their sleeves or some uninformed intern forgot that Metal Gear Solid 4 is a Playstation 3 exlusive. But the video game industry has shown that the word “exclusive” can mean many things (including not exclusive), so whatever the case may be, we’ll find out next year.

This is total BS. Really, if Konami, Kojima, even the guy working for the Xbox says MGS4 is PS3 ONLY, who are you going to believe? Some company that sells products from a wide variety of types OR those who actually know what is going on inside the production of video games?
Yes, I have a PS3 but this little rant is coming from the ridiculousness of this whole subject more than it is coming from bias fanboyism. Hope this dies down soon because MGS4 coming to PS3 will likely happen in 2009 or later folks. Don’t bank on 2008.

I think theres a good chance that mgs 4 will come to the 360. Playstation sells hasn’t been doing well and there’s been too many rumors from different sources that mgs will come to 360.
We’ll just have to wait and see what really happens.

If they have 500,000 – 1,000,000 dollars sitting in the bank for the next 3, 6 or 12 months…and then have to refund it all back because the port for the 360 does not exist…they still would have made a killing on interest.
I wonder if this is even legal. If it is illegal, then maybe they are taking a gamble on the rewards being more profitable than the penalty…Or maybe, just maybe….its true.

It’s a mistake obviously. This is what HMV said about it:
“In his enthusiasm, one of our online games team indicated that hmv.co.uk would start taking pre-orders for MGS4 on Xbox 360, when, in fact, he simply meant to ask customers if they wished to receive an alert in the event of this title one day coming out on this platform”

LMFAO i love it! i used to enjoy the banter with 360 fanboys even when i had a lowly ps2- mainly cos as far as being a GAMES machine went, the ps2 was still far superior than the 360! theres not 1 360 game that comes close to sniffing the used sweaty underpants of God of War 1 or 2! PGR and Forza are gran turismo wannabes-but-never-gonne-bes, and Gears of War is a stroll in the park but with nice graphics compared to the socom series! I think its a well suspected fact that he 360 was released before it was fully developed (hence the 360 elite coming out) to gain an upperhand on next-gen sales. It worked for a bit, til a large percentage started to break down due to inefficient build quality, whereas sony slowly put together the ps3 to ensure it at least worked for 2 hours without overheating and bricking itself. Micro$haft have kept up with their reputation as makers of sub-quality electronics. Stick to windows and leave the gaming to the big boys billy gates, ur not wanted in our world! lol

Xbox 360 is done. Now since they’ve pretty mhch lost they wanna have a little hope that they can have a GOOD game. Well better not keep hoping boys cause being in denial is gonna kill the bunch of yas. Well i hope you think halo is better than mgs4 because your not getting it!
