Damn Factories: Nintendo delays Wii production expansion
Originally planning to to expand the production rate of the Wii, Nintendo has delayed the production expansion due to parts shortages.
The Nintendo Wii currently leads in the console war with the Xbox 360, leaving the Playstation 3 in the dust; however, Nintendo has been unable to satisfy demand for the hot selling Wii.
The company planned to expand Wii production rates around this time of the year in order to beef up for the Holiday Season, but due to a tight supply of vital components such as IC chips and PCBs, according to Digitmes, Nintendo has to delay its plans to increase production rates, which means the Wii may continue to be a hard find this Holiday Season.
Because of the high demand for the console, Nintendo has only introduced the Wii into select regions: the US, Japan, Europe, and Australia.
If Nintendo doesn’t get its act together to meet demand, gamers may go elsewhere to find a fix for their gamind needs, so it’s good news for Microsoft and Sony as they may find themselves picking up Nintendo’s slack.

I am a regular reader of deal sites, and I noticed that on http://www.dealtaker.com they keep posting whenever the wii is back in stock, so if you keep an eye on that, you’re bound to find them.
