Real Evidence: BioShock coming to Playstation 3
By Danny Mendez
If you happen to own a Playstation 3, happen to lack an Xbox 360, and happen to want to play BioShock on a next gen console, I’ve got some good news for you.
A GameTrailers.com forum member, gtrunner2, posted some very interesting evidence that BioShock is indeed coming to the PS3. The evidence comes from a config.ini file from the PC demo of BioShock. The file seems to list a series of notes regarding game engine configuration options and features a small section on consoles. Behold:
[Console]
;; Console (XBox360, PS3) specific settings
;; StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit:
;; If this is a positive number, then instead of using the fixed per-level
;; limits, the StreamingDynamic resource will use as much memory as is
;; available as long as the total memory allocated by the game is less than
;; the specified number. In other words, StreamingDynamic will grow and
;; shrink to fit to the available memory instead of being locked to a fixed
;; budget
StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit=500
That file, which can be found at C:/Program Files/2k Game/Bioshock demo/Content/config.ini, can be opened with Notepad or Wordpad. If you have trouble finding the file, forum member, ItsJustMe, mentioned the file’s name is actually ConfigINI.IBF, so keep an eye out for both in case gtrunner2 made a mistake

Does anyone any another 2K game to check? That looks like a standard line of code that may be written into any game.

Since Bioshock was first rumored to be released on Playstation 3, but then dropped, i would not be counting too much on that information (the specific line might have been created before dropping the Playstation 3 version)
