July NPD numbers are in: Find out which console did best
The July NPD numbers are finally in, and it looks like it was a good month for everybody with industry sales totaling $925.5 million, up 37% year-over-year.
Turns out Pachter was wrong when he predicted that the PS3 would outsell the Xbox 360 for July. GameDailybiz reports the following numbers:
Wii: 425,000
DS: 405,000
PS2: 222,000
PSP: 214,000
X360: 170,000
PS3: 159,000
GBA: 87,000
That brings up an important question: Who the hell is buying the Game Boy Advance? That thing is long dead with, and even Nintendo has declared the "Game Boy" brand dead.
Software sales grew 11% to $419.2 million, with NCAA Football 08 declaring itself king of the hill:
