Nintendo: “Production delays? We haven’t heard of any Wii production delays”
By Danny Mendez
Nintendo’s come out and said it. Despite rumors spreading as far and wide as the Internet can spread ‘em, Nintendo is denying the existence of any and all production delay rumors.
It’s no secret. Nintendo can’t meet demand for the Wii, and that may very well be because of the large demand for Wiis. Nintendo originally planned to increase production rates for the console sometime around this part of the year in preparation for the Holiday Season, and then came word from manufacturers in China of a tight supply of vital components such as IC chips and PCBs that can’t meet demand for Nintendo’s desired production rates.
So the rumors started to spread, leaving little hope for anybody looking to buy a Wii sometime soon, but MCV recently contact Nintendo about the rumored production delays and this is what Nintendo said:
“This is not an official announcement and is utter rumour and speculation.”
There you have it folks. But it’s probably an outright lie, so if happen to spot a Wii in stores, don’t hesitate if you’re in the search for one.

You’ve no right to automatically assume it’s a lie.

Well seeing as sales have been higher than they’ve been in half a year, it definately may not be a lie. However, it seems reasonable to me that they may be spinning us a story to keep negativity down and keep invester hopes up.
