Killzone 2: 25 minutes of behind the scenes goodness

By Danny Mendez

Killzone 2: 25 minutes of behind the scenes goodnessKillzone 2 is one of the next up and coming first person shooters everyone’s wettin’ their pants about. Here’s a 25 minute behind the scenes developer’s preview of the game straight from Leipzig.

The video features the alpha build of the game, but even as the alpha build, the game is incredibly detailed. Something many may appreciate is that the background doesn’t consist of a 2D picture, it consists of full on polygon 3D landscapes, buildings, etc.

The developer’s run through some of the games features and backstory. They’re also able to move the camera mid-air to show you, up close and personal, the details of the level. The developers reveal they’re going for something called "Hollywood type realism", which is a slightly over the top reality meant to immerse gamers into Killzone while still remaining believable.

Developers normally don’t do this kind of thing for an upcoming game, so enjoy it for all it’s worth. Also, if you’re unfamiliar with Killzone 2, check out the trailer below with the 25 minute preview. The game should come out February of ‘08 for the PS3.
