PSP Slim (PSP-2000) released today
By Danny Mendez
Sony hasn’t been very clear when it comes to the release date of the better, faster, stronger PSP Slim. It’s supposed to be released sometime in September, and, well, it’s September.
Today they decided to give us a heads up as to when it’s officially coming out, and it’s out now. An official Sony press release says the Entertainment Pack with the silver PSP Slim is available right now but good luck trying to find one.
Joystiq reports that they’ve been having trouble trying to find a store with them in stock, but we checked Gamestop’s online store and it’s good to go there.
When the regular PSP slim pack hits stores, lets hope they don’t reuse the exact same packaging, similar to when Microsoft added an HDMI port to the Xbox 360 Premium.
If that’s the case, the only way you’ll be able to make sure you get one of the new models (other than waiting a few months) is to buy one of the special packs, such as the Star Wars Battlefront Pack, which comes out October 9, or the Entertainment Pack, which runs for $200 and comes with a copy of Daxter, the Family Guy Freakin’ Sweet Collection on UMD, and a 1GB stick.
