Christian Bale to play Snake in upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie?
Although few things are official regarding the Metal Gear Solid movie, it appears Christian Bale may play Solid Snake in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the game.
What we do know is that Sony Pictures plans to bring the video game franchise to the big screen, according to a Variety and IMDB, with Michael De Luca (American History X, Magnolia, Little Nicky) as Producer and Hideo Kojima as Executive Producer.
The Metal Gear Solid Movie Chronicles blog, which tracks any developments regarding the MGS movie, adds Bale is rumored to play Snake, citing the UK publication, Nuts. The blog mentions that Nuts isn’t well known for it’s newsworthiness, so we shouldn’t take this too seriously.

yanoo wat fuck all you who say shit like dont make the movie and dont act in it and all that crap, you forget other popular films based of games such as resident evil and this is far surpassed that and most games if not all (auto aim gotta love it) ((no seriously you have to love auto aim it is quicker than reticle in all ways)) back to the point do make the movie it is a great decision and all u will regret what you have said i mean seriously this is going to be action throughout, but i do agree david hayter should play snake

This is bullshit. He is not playing. That role is or David Hayter. We all see he is announcing his participation in the film MGS4 in the promos before the game start and in the blue ray limited edition BD.

Come On..first of all i am already too skeptical of this movie..since its one of my favourite games and i will kill someone from Hollywood if they ruin this movie..secondly..they is no way in hell that anybody can rival the voice work of David Hayter..i mean the guy literally defined solid Snake throughout the english speaking world..and thirdly..i think that Kojima san should make iit as a CGI or anime style movie since the stories of MGS universe are better suited to this format..

Why is everyone here hating on Bale?? He has done some amazing movies, and his track record says that he will make this movie what it should be. Look at the machinist, equilibrium, american psycho, the prestige, batman.. I mean this guy has done some good movies, I don’t see what everyone’s problem is with him being snake.

if anything, a metal gear movie is a risk to bale’s career… not the other way around. he has the perfect look for young snake, something viggo doesn’t quite accomplish… and bale’s commitment to his art is more than enough to qualify him for the role.

Christian Bale is a proven solid actor, plus hes got the raspy voice down from batman, plus hes jacked, im a full supporter of Bale as top choice as snake, he should do some power lifting and grow the mullet/facial hair in tho if he doesnt wanna look like pretty boy snake. Wow. Some of you show you play too many video games. Dissing on Bale and Mortensen. The mere fact these two actors are lined up at all is amazing. Bale and Mortensen are 2 of the 5 best actors on the planet. They are only beaten by Daniel Day-Lewis.
