Japan: PSP and Crisis Core beat DS and everyone else for 3rd week in a row

By Danny Mendez

PSP and Crisis Core beat DS and everyone else for 3rd week in a rowFor the third week in a row in Japan, the Sony PSP wipes the floor with Nintendo, Microsoft, and the rest of the gaming industry.

The Japanese love anything Final Fantasy VII related, and I can’t blame them, us Americans love it too. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is moving more PSPs than Nintendo can move Wii and DS units combined! That’s saying a lot.

Anyway, Master Chief is taking the fight for Microsoft to a new level, and, although these numbers seem rather weak compared to the rest of the bunch, they’re much better than pre-Halo 3 sales.

Surprisingly, people are still buying the Game Boy Micro. Who buys those things? Even Nintendo declared the Game Boy dead!

Here are the numbers courtesy of Kotaku:

* PSP - 102,809
* Nintendo DS Lite - 72,895
* Wii - 24,143
* PLAYSTATION 3 - 13,105
* PlayStation 2 - 12,980
* Xbox 360 - 5,215
* Game Boy micro - 229
