PS3 warranty disabled by dust disaster?
Dust is a fact of life for the modern gamer. Either something you work against to keep your entertainment center sparkling or, more likely, a choking hazard whenever you’re forced to dive into the tangled snakes nest of cabling that lurks behind your system.
The PS3 is famous for being the most dust-attracting of consoles: it acts like a dust-bar with a "free drinks for dust" neon sign, staffed entirely by cute female dust particles. We’re saying it pulls in a lot of dust (just check out these pictures at Kotaku).
This is magnified by applications like Folding@Home which encourage you to leave your PS3 on at all times. It seems very selfless of the console – as well as trying to cure disease, it’s sacrificing itself in an attempt to keep the rest of your room dust-free.
The problem? It apparently invalidates your warranty (as reported by the Consumerist). In what has the potential to be the worst PR disaster since somebody demonstrated the smoking section on the Hindenberg, Sony support apparently refused to repair a console that was under warranty for being ‘too dusty’.
The staff were hostile, and employed the classic "accuse the customer of being an abusive scammer" strategy. Protip for customer service: it is NEVER a good idea to tell the client they’ll have to take legal action against you to get service.
Of course, Sony is far too image conscious to allow such retarded customer relations to continue. We expect a rapid resolution to this case, and suspect there will be an internal memo to all call centers to the effect of "Don’t screw over our customers because of something our console does automatically."

Does he own and x-box ladies and gentleman….no, no, this is just classy journalism. Ha ha, your references to the ps3 being a nightclub for dust are pure genius luke, genius I tell you. Here’s hoping that Gameinformer picks your articles up based on there sheer research and wit alone.
