Happy Anniversary Xbox Live: Fans get the presents
Celebrating its 5th Anniversary, Live is 5ive, Xbox live is handing out gifts to it’s members while preparing to add new features.
After 5 years in service and growing to more than 8 million members in 26 countries, Xbox Live is ready to party. With the theme of Xbox Live is 5ive, Xbox has several events planned including a sweepstakes with various prizes. During the event you’ll be able to play live with game developers, the Frag Dolls, even playing Call of Duty 4 with Seether. In the Marketplace, Live has added newly themed blades and the arcade game Carcassonne as free downloads during this event. The two day event starts on November 15 at 12:01 am PST and ends November 16 at 11:59pm PST. In addition Live is also handing out 500 MS points to all members who’ve had subscriptions since that early beginning in 2002.
While the party rages on, personnel are still finishing preparations on Xbox Live’s December 4th system update. It will be adding Xbox Originals. This will allow owners to purchase and download original Xbox games on your Xbox 360 such as “Halo,” “Psychonauts,” “Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge,” and “Fable”. Despite the price of 1,200 MS points, the feature should give the Xbox 360 an additional edge for consumers trying to decide between it and a PS3 this season.
No promises have been made yet as for bug fixes or new features added to the old games, but a larger library of games has been promised for the new Xbox Originals feature.
