Sony brings free PS3 with HDTV purchase offer to the US

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Sony brings free PS3 with HDTV purchase offer to the US Sony had been offering this only to the good citizens of Australia but now it seems the company has seen, at least, half a light and is offering the same thing to residents of the States. Of course, there are a few more restrictions on the offer.

You can’t just go out and purchase a qualifying Sony HDTV from any store using  just any credit card and expect to receive your PS3 which is what’s going on “down under.”

US residents must jump through a few more hoops. First you will need to apply for a Sony Visa credit card, be approved, then you can use the card to purchase any of the qualifying HDTV models at Sony Rewards and (hopefully) receive the PS3 (though I’m not sure of the steps past this).

At this point you had better act quickly because the offer ends (for the US) on December 31 whereas the offer in Australia is good until January 28 of 2008.
