Turn any laptop into a Xbox 360 "wireless adapter"
Someone really needs to send Microsoft a memo to start including WiFi integrated into the Xbox 360 because paying $100 for a WiFi adapter in 2008 borders on ridiculous. With a little bit of know-how (or the ability to follow instructions) any Windows XP, Vista or Mac laptop can be turned into a wireless gateway for your Xbox 360.
Instructables shows you exactly what needs to be done to configure your laptop. It almost goes without saying that you will need to be connected to the Internet via WiFi before beginning.
The tutorial is good for PCs running Windows XP or Vista and for Macs running either Leopard or Tiger.
You should also know that this will disable the LAN port on your laptop from connecting to the Internet so if that functionality is important to you then this is best avoided. Though, the article claims that functionality can be restored, I have not tested any of this for myself so proceed at your own risk.
The only real problem with this method, if it is a problem, is that your laptop must be plugged into and turned on if you want to connect to Xbox Live so it’s a little wasteful (energy wise) in that respect.
