Microsoft compensates Xbox Live users with free copy of Undertow
Some of you may remember that back in December and especially during the holidays, Xbox live experienced hiccups in service. Problems ranged from users not being able to sign on to getting kicked off or just plain not working. Microsoft issued an apology and said users would be compensated in some way.
That compensation comes in the form of a free Xbox live game, Undertow. Which according to The Guardian, will be offered at no charge to all Gold and Silver Xbox live users.
I know what you’re thinking, Undertow, what’s that? Well, according to Microsoft…
"Undertow is a fast-paced action-shooter that sends you underwater as you battle up to 16 players for control of the oceans! Non-stop conquest-style battles push the envelope of onscreen effects and combat action and boast some of the most stunning graphics ever seen in an Xbox LIVE Arcade title."
It’s an underwater first person shooter? And one where you’re actually in the water as opposed to crawling/walking/running through an underwater complex? But, that’s been done and probably better.
The game has 15 levels of single player action and 16-player multiplayer battles as well as a co-op mode.
That may not be enough to settle the ire of the truly irritated Xbox fan just don’t go holding your breath that a certain lawsuit involving certain people from Texas will get anywhere.

i too called xbox live tech support during these dark hours. I spoke to the mgr of their helpdesk dept and could not give me a good answer as to what microsoft had to offer for us live members who were devasted of problems with intermittent live connection. All I wanted was a free month for Decemnber/January and they could not offer that. Correct me if I’m asking too much but If I paid $60.00 for 12 months and get only 10 months, i would like a refund or credit for the 2 months i did not get service on..Big M decided they can resolve this by giving us a Free Arcade game..The truth is, Microsoft’s Servers were not prepared for the jumb in live subscriptions that overwelmed them this holiday…Admit it please!
