BioShock gets sequel in form of prequel
One of the best first person shooters/adventure game for the PC and Xbox 360 will be getting a sequel that’s not really a sequel at all. BioShock let us experience the underwater city of Rapture after it had fallen where splicers, little sisters and Big Daddy’s were running amok; it told us how the story ended. What was rapture like before all that happened? The sequel will tell us.
BioShock 2 has become official and is set to be released next year before the 2009 holidays; right around the same time that the original was released in 2007. BioShock 2 is not really a sequel, it’s a prequel, taking place before all the events in BioShock.
Kotaku reports BioShock 2 will give us a look at Rapture in its heyday before it went down the toilet. As to what’s actually in-store for the game, that’s not been released to us mere mortals.
In BioShock there are all kinds of things to do and enemies to fight. With the prequel; I doubt you will run around harvesting little sisters but maybe you’ll be one of the ones helping to round them up and maybe you’re actually the one who caused the fall of Rapture, how about that?
I can think of something that would be even better than a prequel to BioShock; either a remake of or sequel to System Shock 2. I know it’s long been dead but it’s still an excellent and was the original horror based first person shooter. It shouldn’t be too hard to convert BioShock from taking place in a city under the ocean to being an ultra-futuristic starship over run with horrors and disasters ala System Shock 2.
BioShock is the spiritual successor to the System Shock series but it’s not the same, similar and close in some respects but not quite the same; don’t get me wrong it’s still an excellent game and now there’s more to look forward to.

I heard 2k had recently ordered ps3 programmers, could the sequel to the only game worth having on the 360 be coming to the ps3?

System Shock 3? Yup ! Who dont’ EA don’t do something since they own major portions of the SS IP ? I’d posted a similar comment on a popular UK gaming blog- and the comment mirrored the fact that the Unreal3 Engine’s been put to good use thanks to BioShock; what’s preventing them men-in-suits from having EA license out SS IP over to 2k ? Someone wake up !

Only game worth having on 360? Ok, if you think so. I can think of a plethora of great games that are on 360 (exclusive and multi). I can also think of some good PS3 games too.
But each to their own I suppose.

Sorry should have put “in my opinion”, I guess Lost Odyssey and Mass Efect as well but I’m not a huge fan of RPG’s
