5 reasons to switch from 360 to PS3
It seems that frequently writers, critics and gamers discuss the age-old rivalry between the PS3 and the 360 in terms of new buyers and adopters — however this doesn’t take into account gamers that could be dissatisfied or interested in branching out. Here are 5 reasons you should switch from the Xbox 360 to the Playstation 3.
1. The PS3 upscales standard DVDs where the 360 does not, at least right out of the box – if you want to have your upscaled DVDs (just like everything with the 360), you can buy a VGA hookup for the standard 360, or you can use the HDMI capabilities of the most expensive Elite system; nonetheless, Sony didn’t leave this particular stone unturned, and PS3 owners can enjoy DVD upscaling without turning to another disc player for it.
2. The Playstation network is free where Xbox Live is assuredly not – we can squabble all day over whether or not Xbox Live is a better online service than Playstation’s setup (it probably is), but free is free; when push comes to shove, I’d rather not spend $50 bucks a year to play games online when I can do it for free.
3. You can have multiple gamer tags at no cost on the PS3, where the 360 charges for each additional account – this ties in with the last point, but here’s why this is significant: I play Call of Duty 4 almost religiously, and after getting a hang of the game, I really want to have a kill to death ratio that reflects what I’m capable of. Unfortunately, as far as I am into it, going 19 and 1 doesn’t have the kind of effect I’d like to on my ratio. Solution? Have another account — but oh wait, I don’t want to spend $50 for that convenience.
4. Playstation 3 has a Blu-ray player, where the 360 does not (yet) — rumors and mumblings keep saying the 360 will see a Blu-ray drive, but I’m not willing to pay an additional $200 for it, even if it ever did hit the market. Like it or not, Blu-ray is the high definition disc format, and the Playstation has it at quite the reasonable price.
5. Most importantly, the Playstation 3 doesn’t have anywhere near the repair issues that the 360 does – this is for all those disconcerted 360 owners who have had to send in their consoles for red ring of death repairs, perhaps multiple times. Wouldn’t it be nice to not wonder whether you just received a ticking time bomb from Microsoft every time you have a console replaced?
There’s 5 very legitimate reasons to ditch your 360 in favor of the PS3; granted, new adopters probably won’t be running out to stores to trash their 360s, but after a little hassle with Microsoft and not enough features in the 360, older customers just might consider it.
Author’s note: I did unintentionally write that the 360 did not upscale at first; I’ve modified this story to reflect that the 360 does upscale…you just have to pay extra for it.

I own an xBox 360 and the only reason I love it is for the games. I would much prefer a PS3 because it has a Blu-Ray player but Halo and Gears of War are important to me.

1) the 360 does upscale to 1080p. one of the first updates on xbox live fixed this and the newer systems come with this . you failed with that one.
2) thats personal preference. if i want to stay in a 5 star hotel, and you want to stay in a fleabag thats all preference.
3) xbox live allows you to play socially or ranked, it would be your fault to go into ranked matches as a noob. and the ability to switch back and forth accounts would cause alot more needless griefing. (see message boards where people ban dodge)
4) blu ray is nice, but many prefer downloading HD and SD content. xbox live is leading in HD movie downloads.
5) I agree, but with the new chipset that microsoft implemented in NOV 07, this problem is supposedly fixed, and with the 3 year warranty, it shouldnt matter to anyone.

And out of all the reasons you listed, not one was about the library of titles the ps3 has. I know the ps3 has a few good titles out as i write this, but the 360 has more. (heck my wii has more excellent titles compared to the ps3)
as of this writing, the only reason i could possible even think about buying a ps3 would be for blu ray. (this of course is my opinion, and many xbox and nintendo owners opinions as well) im sad to say that i havent seen any games on the ps3 that would make me not feel guilty for buying it.

I bought a PS3 because I am on of those disconcerted 360 owners who have had to send in their consoles for red ring of death repairs, perhaps multiple times. I had to send in my shitbox 360 2 times. I was also having money stolen from my account by the XBL mafioso.

I meant to add in to the list that developers are targeting the really big games at both platforms, mainly because they recognize that Bluray will drive PS3 sales now. Most (note, not all) of the great games will be on both platforms.
And in reference to the 1080p rendering…I don’t know if you’ve ever watched an “upscaled” DVD on a 1080p tv from the 360, but it looks like complete crap. The PS3 does it right.

1. Nothing to do with games, and false (buy a VGA cable)
2. If you can afford a PS3, you can afford a measly $50 per year.
3. Blatantly false. Each new gamertag on XBL is free and comes with a 1 month trial of free online. Use that month to train on COD4, then go back to your regular account. Need more than a month? Make a new gamertag and get another free month. Simple.
4. Nothing to do with games, and most people are fine with DVDs and don’t want to buy a whole new TV anyway.
5. PS3s break too, though not as often.
So its really only 2 reasons max, as opposed to several reasons not to.

5 Reasons to Ditch the PS3 for a 360:
1. The controller. Lets face it, it makes sense to have trigger buttons when playing a game that involves weapons. And a game without rumble just isn’t as interesting.
2. Microsoft have superior buying power. 7 of the top ten games have been available on 360. The remaining are Wii exclusives. Sure you won’t be able to play the Metal Gear franchise but I think Mass Effect, Halo, Gears of War, Bioshock and Fable franchises can keep you company. Meanwhile almost all games are made for 360 and ported to PS3 later on which means 360 is the defacto preferred platform. (Edit: Dragon’s Lair might even the score on this one…)
3. Xbox Live. Now we can squabble about whether a free service is better than a paid for service all we want (it probably is) but the fact of the matter is: if you want to play online you get a 360. XBL is a vastly superior platform with a great deal more flexibility than PSN. TV and movie downloads, xbox originals and arcade and classic games the list goes on.
4. Xbox Achievement Points and Gamer Score. They add a whole new level of competition and challenge and are pretty much the only reason I will play a game through more than once. They are fun to get, often challenging in their own right and extend a games live (and therefore bang for buck) beyond what PS3 can offer for the same game.
5. Blu ray is a liability. If I want to fork out the dough for a fledgling technology that is slow and only just getting on it’s feet then I will buy a dedicated component system. I don’t want it jammed into my gaming console inflating the price to ludicrous levels just so they can inflate their own Blu ray sales numbers. I want a game console to pay games and that’s it. When blu ray becomes the next big thing in three or four years time just like DVD did about four years ago then the story will change. But I don’t want to be an early adopter by stealth for Sony’s on ends.

I have a xbox360 and a ps3, but my xbox gets played more then the ps3. there are only 2 good game that are out for the ps3. There are hundreds of game for the 360. COD4 is better on the 360, Assian cread look like crap!!!! on the ps3, I can go on and on, but the fact is the 360 is a BETTER FORMAT for Gaming. The 360 can upconvert when using the VGA input. It can probably also do it through HDMI on newer 360s. Otherwise, I agree with 2-5. Also the game lineup is getting better on PS3. If the game line-up had been better, it would already be outselling the 360.

Also, as PS3 has blu-ray, there will never really be the issue of not fitting enough data on a disc, come a year or 2 and XBOX 360 will be lacking on this front, buying 2-3 DVD’s as opposed to 1, raising the price on games by alot. Imagine playing a game, half way through the most intense level ever, to come to ‘Please insert disc 500.’

most people do not prefer to down load HD movies i had 4 xbox 360 (switched to ps3) and when my system broke all my live stuff was gone and do u know how long it takes to download a movie of live. i would rather own a movie than wait all night watching parts of the movie waiting for it to stream through. xbox 360 blows! and screw you Gates for making me buy a piece of crap that melted and by the way windows vista sucks too apple and sony all the way

yet another sloppy mess of an article. a recent trend of this site. its becoming the ps3 fan boy bullpen. three years ago most of you’d be writing about how the ps2 is garbage and the big black box is the way of the future. let me be clear when i say two things. ive burned by both sony and Microsoft. both are large corporations that will be here years after our blogging days are over. they dont like you and that is what it is. second, be a man and just buy both systems. if money is an issue then you still belong in the wii leagues.
a few more thoughts. anyone who has both psn and xbox live can tell you that sony’s network is seriously flawed. slow connection times. a confusing interface. security issues. everything on the psn becomes a chore. in general its an ametuer mess. id rather pay the WHOPPING 13 cents a day for an organized, secure and user friendly experience.
please understand that i love my playstation 3. its the perfectly engineered powerhouse. playing my 360 is like slumming it for the night. the giant white nightmare. unfortunately sonys company arrogance and Microsoft’s deep pockets have put Sony in a very bad predicament for this console bout. this year looks promising with little big planet, home and of coarse mgs4. when all else is said and done its about the games. simpler days of the NES and one dominate console are over. shut up. buy both consoles. it will balance out i promise.

Nice list. I know its not in any sort of order, but I would say number 5 (RRoD) is THE biggest reason the people I know are switching.
Kratosthekrackhead, your comments are reasonable from a 360 fan, but there are a few problems with them. Like you say, the online experience is one of preference. Personally I would rather have a FREE distributed online gaming network like ‘PSN’ which is going to be more reliable (due its layout) and more resilient than the centralised and MS controlled ‘Live’ network. MS have such tight control that developers do not have the freedom to do such things as allow user created content to be uploaded and distributed easily (see Epic’s comments about UTIII and the 360).
Downloading movies is okay if you have your console in your living room but a lot of people have them in their bedrooms or other rooms so they don’t hog the family TV. Many people also like to physically own media with the movies on. You are never going to be able to burn off your downloaded movies from your 360 due to Digital Rights Management so thats never gonna happen. On a related note, the dual digital HD tuner is out shortly for the PS3 and we can record and copy off our own TV programmes and movies.
Extending the warranty is no compensation for rushing development and poor testing. Or for losing your console for months while it gets repaired.
I am afraid the comment about the Wii having more excellent titles than the PS3 is just plain dumb, unless you are a 5 year old, or a pensioner. That seem to the age groups Nintendo are aiming for.

Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2 will probably be on the PS3 just like the next Just Cause, Dead Rising & Saints Row will be. to all those saying that HD downloads are the future…
me personally and whole lot of others to boot…
in the uk the average download speed is 3 meg, sorry but i’d rather buy a blu ray disc than sit at my xbox come 6pm while everyone is online to wait 6 hours for a hi def movie which downloads at sub 500 kbps.
plus i’d rather have the media in a solid form, it is 2008 but hard drives and solid state meory still mess up, plus for ease of access blu ray is better (i.e. lending it to friends)
screw live, i’d rather not pay for the option of multiplayer, sony have that base covered and charging a price cant be justified. no matter how much you love your xbox.
what the fanboy in me says it boils down to is that sony has always been cool, microsoft however has always been a greedy bstard with many many faults and overall substandard products.
2008 is the year of the playstation.

I d-load movies and other stuff all the time and then watch them from my pc streamed to my ps3, wirelessly so to see them in the living room while my pc is across the house. 5 reasons for all you 360 fanboys to shutup:
1) Blue-ray – Although u 360 fanboys dont think this is nessesary. Metal Gear Solid 4 has already filled up a 50 gb blue-ray disk. Compared to 9gb 360 disk. Its not just for movies. Most movie studios support blue-ray exclusively so there arnt many downloadable movies for 360.
2)Games – You 360 fanboys always rip on how your games are better well. PS3 has Resistance, Resistance 2, Uncharted 1 and 2, Ratchet & Clank, Killzone 2, MGS4, Little Big Planet, Haze, The Agency, Heavenly Sword, Gran Turismo 5, Africa, Eight Days, Motorstorm 1 and 2, Unreal Tounament 3 ( also on pc, timed exclusive), Final Fantasy vs. Fable 2( also on pc), Gears of War 1 and 2 ( also on pc), Mass Efect ( also on pc), Bioshock (also on pc), Halo 3( coming to pc ), Forza
3) Playstation Network – I know your going to say Live is better but. PSN is free. PSN will soon have HOME which is also free. PS3 has an internet browser which has come in real handy. Its nice to go on you tube on a tv and have it come in real clear. And you can watch online HD movies. And also PS3 has wifi built in, u dont have to buy a expensive piece.
4) PS3 has a 1% failure rate. Old 360’s have 35% and new ones have 15%.
5) and PS3 is only like 50-100$ more which is quickly going to build up if you have a 360. PS3 is not to expensive you dumbasses. Look if you add up all the costs for 360 that PS3 already has for free here it is. So $50 a year for live + $200 for wifi add on, $150 for HD-DVD add on when they still made them + all downloadable movies which are going to fill up you 360’s hardrives within 3 movies = way more than what ur going to spend on PS3

The PS3 controller also has triggers. Rumble is also now in the controller.

Mass Effect sequels and Bioshock 2 are rumored to be made for both 360 and PS3. Also, the old trend was to make a game for 360 then port it to PS3. But that trend has switched and now virtually everyone are starting with the PS3, which is why the games are starting to look better on the PS3

Lately the 360 has been a bit of a joke for online games as the PS3’s dedicated servers have been far more reliable.

I personally find achievement points to be retarded and a waste of time, but the PS3 is releasing it’s own version when Home comes out in the summer.

Early adoption of Blu Ray has come and gone. It is no longer a liability after it’s defeat of HD-DVD.
This year is all about Sony though, they have a huge lineup of exclusive games, while 360 has almost nothing.

I own 3 xbox 360 & a PS3. I think both platforms offer some really good ideas. I am a hardcore online gamer which the 360 offers very well. Great online community and downloadable content., but the reliabilty of the 360 has less to be desired. (all 3 of my 360 RROD) Now the Ps3 hardware is sick. Blu ray, bluetooth, REMOTE CONNECT (Awsome app), open source O/S, web browser, but in my opinion the online play ability needs some work. Not a lot offered on Sony Store Full Length Movies, downloadable games and online game play isn’t up to par yet with XBL. I think both platforms have a lot to offer. Its all about what suits you.

Non of this matters. As a gaming machine, the 360 is leaps and bounds ahead of the paper weight ps3. Better games, better online structure, better arcade downloads, HD rentals and tv shows! The 360 is the hardcore gamers system, the wii is the family system, the ps3 is the i would like a blue ray player with a weak attempt to game. The funny thing is, blue ray is the ONLY thing keeping the ps3 in the fight, people are buying it more for playing movies than actually gaming. Now that’s fricken funny.

The ps3 uses more space than a dvd for some games because the programmer already said they have to duplicate gigs, and gigs of data to make up for the slow loading, and the way the game is programmed on the sony hardware. I own a PS3 you guys can call me a fanboy if u want to but to tell u the truth i did the research and came to realize what the PS3 could do and what would come out. I mean the PS3 has Blu-ray the 360 does’nt have anything for HD movies (meaning discs)since HD-DVD failed. The PS3 has very good game coming out for 08 like MGS4, Resistance 2, FF13, Home, and Haze to name a few. The games for 360 well that i think are good Gow2, and Fable2 are 2 games that are good but if i want them i can just get it for the computer. These are 5 reasons that I would not even use in an argument, other then the blu-ray point.
For one when it comes summer time, the addition of 2.4 and home, the ps3’s online will be just as good if not better then the 360’s for free.
The wii and ps3 have less than a 1% failure rate where as the 360 has been said to be anywhere from 15 to 33% of a failure rate.
Blu-ray does matter whether u think it does or not, hard drives are to expensive and internet is to slow for digital media to take off, so dont start that argument. I remember people saying why do we need dvds, vhs works fine, same with cassetes and cds, technology advances people!
The controllers are debatable, but I know I have been using the same controller (for the most part) since the playstation era and i wouldnt trade it for nothing.
Games, games and games… the 360 does have a better line-up thus far, however their future looks bleak. The ps3 has tons of better games coming this year, MGS4, LBP, Resistance 2, GT5, Haze, GoW3 (preying, lol), Killzone 2, Infamous.. I cld go forever. Not to mention all the rumors.. Bioshock and Mass Effect sequals will be multiplatfor, Rockstar is going back to PS exclusives (or a PS exclusive franchise), Crysis 1.5 for ps3 only, Game developers are now working on multiplatformers on the ps3 then portings them to 360. and we still got tons of big guns to come, Final Fantasies, The Agency, whatever team ICO has in store for us, Dark Cloud 3, I mean come on, its a no contest.

First I would like to start by saying that I’m not a fanboy, and luckily I own the 360, PS3, and the Wii, not because I have lots of money but I was saving for a while to get all three. To get it out of the way I think that the Wii is a good console for casual gamers, children, and an older audience. In regards to hardcore gamers, then the PS3 and the 360 are the ways to go. I don’t understand how a website lets people post agressive and dumb comments, and if anyone disagrees with them they feel offended. I think people should get offended by the poor comments you make, which are biased and only show your favoritism for a brand, which at the end they don’t pay for your food or shelter, so stop it. Going back to the blog, I think the author is right in some points, but wrong in others, which I feel anyone should research first before posting anything. First, The 360 does upscale, as well as the PS3, so that’s not a reason. On the second bullet, I agree that this service shold be free as Sony is doing, although I think the 360 online service is currently better, however Microsoft should provide it free of charge as gamers have already invested substantial amounts of money in hardware and software, so we shouldn’t justify their fee, but we should encourage Sony to improve its service, which hopefully will be the case with Home. I think the third item mentioned should be addressed differently, for example, having multiple gamertags not to make up for your skills or lack of, but you should be able to have multiple gamertags available for different persons at home that want to play and have their profiles separately. On the fourt point, I think Blu-Ray is an advantage if you like to watch HD movies and shows, since not everyone has access to a fast internet connection for downloading movies, and also downloads take space from your hard drive which is currently expensive for the 360. Also, you can’t share with friends since you can’t burn the items you download, so I think the PS3 has a great advantage, as well as games are demanding more space limiting the 360 to a dual-layer disc. Keep in mind that Microsoft invested in the HD format to bring similar capabilities to its gamers, however they invested in the losing format. In the last point, I have to agree that the PS3 is a better machine in terms of reliability since the 360 has an unacceptable failure rate, in my case already 3 suffered from RROD, and having an extended warranty doesn’t justify this level of failure since it involves taking your time from gaming and is inconvenient. In regards to games, both the PS3 and the 360 have awesome games, and you’ll often find yourself playing one console more over the othersometimes because one game is exclusive to a console like Bioshock, Mass Efect, and Halo for the 360, or Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Ratchet and Clank, or Heavenly Sword for the PS3. If a game comes out for both consoles, like the majority of the new and upcoming games, then I just basically read the reviews in different sites to see which one has the edge. In my case, I think the achievements piece is sometimes a bit overrated, and is not my determining factor when buying or renting a game, I look more for gameply, controls, graphics, and which version is more polished. Before, almost all games were better on the 360 as they were devleloped first for this console and then ported to the PS3, however that’s starting to change as some games are now starting to be developed in the PS3 first, so sometimes this makes a game run smoother in one console versus the other. If both games are identical then you may go with the one where you like the controller better, or the achievements if that is a must for you. I enjoy both consoles, and I think that in this era of gaming, all three systems will have a similar piece of the market, and at the end we all win!

why are people so slow to realize that when they say “i don’t care about bluray because i only care about games” that they are missing the point entirely. bluray holds more info which allows it to hold more info and provide a better picture quality in movies.
this also applies to games. once games get bigger how will an xbox be able to handle games that fill up bluray discs. the new metal gear solid barley fit on the blu ray disc. how would a 360 cope with a game like that? multiple discs? not likely. they will dilute their picture and sound quality to fit it on the regular dvd disk. bet on it.

To everyone who thinks that BluRay media is an advantage. Um what format do true hardcore gamers use, yes that’s right the PC, and what format do those games ship on, yes that’s right DVD. Most games just don’t use up all that much information, drop any PS2, Xbox, or Xbox 360 game in your PC and you will see that the vast majority of them don’t even make it onto a dual layer disc. And most of the ones that do are the most popular games because they added filler to the disc so that it is more costly and difficult for Piraters to make copies because the blank dual layer media is still expensive. BluRay is great for watching HD movies, but an advantage for games not. Drop Devil may cry 4 PS3 Blu Ray disc in your PC Blu Ray drive and see its just barely over 7.5 GB.

I have both an Xbox 360 & PS3 and I’m too old to be a fanboy but I have to admit, I’m struggling to find a game worth buying on the PS3. Cross platform games are simply more fun on the Xbox because of achievements and online integration. Achievements give people a reason to replay games and the friends list is so simple and intuitive.
On my PS3 I can play singstar and some blu-rays -thats about it. I feel very disconnected when playing games on it.
At this point in time, the Xbox 360 is the better console. Maybe if Sony get their act together things will change. There’s no doubt that it has more balls under the hood, but development for a seven core architecture is not a straight forward process and does not directly translate to more performance.

Xbox live has no true HD Downloads. True HD would take 5 hours to download a 1:30 movie. They even just announced hd movies coming to take 15 minutes in 2009. SO obviuosly not here yet. ANd yes you can stream a couple seconds after starting a download but once again not true HD. But in all fairness sony dont have it either.
5) I agree, but with the new chipset that microsoft implemented in NOV 07, this problem is supposedly fixed, and with the 3 year warranty, it shouldnt matter to anyone.

3. Xbox Live. Now we can squabble about whether a free service is better than a paid for service all we want (it probably is) but the fact of the matter is: if you want to play online you get a 360. XBL is a vastly superior platform with a great deal more flexibility than PSN. TV and movie downloads, xbox originals and arcade and classic games the list goes on.
July home comes out well see on this one.
4. Xbox Achievement Points and Gamer Score. They add a whole new level of competition and challenge and are pretty much the only reason I will play a game through more than once. They are fun to get, often challenging in their own right and extend a games live (and therefore bang for buck) beyond what PS3 can offer for the same game.
Acheivemnts are nice, but tropys for the same game in a showcased room are even better. Once again home well see.
5. Blu ray is a liability. If I want to fork out the dough for a fledgling technology that is slow and only just getting on it’s feet then I will buy a dedicated component system. I don’t want it jammed into my gaming console inflating the price to ludicrous levels just so they can inflate their own Blu ray sales numbers. I want a game console to pay games and that’s it. When blu ray becomes the next big thing in three or four years time just like DVD did about four years ago then the story will change. But I don’t want to be an early adopter by stealth for Sony’s on ends.
360 is a liability for rrod. Blueray in a machine is cheaper then a stand alone unit so why would you buy that. Blu ray is the next big thing NOW. lol

Im gonna be qite honest with you because these are not my opinions. Everything I post is on proof related articles. Not one writers opinion actual proof. Now I see all types of post like that about how 360 won in febuary then 2 weeks later sales figures show a different story, thats my point actual facts. Now I think wii is a great machine and very innovative. But lets be honest some games are better played on there without the wii mote. And most people like me think wow that looks like a cool game or something that could utilize the system but it gets kinda old fast. And all different ages I talked to that have a wii say the same thing, they dont really play it that much. So my honest opinion is wii is a fad. Its like tickle me elmo, is hard to get so people fight the need and go out to get one cause it was miraculously there at the store that day. Now llets take the 360, theres no denying it has a very nice interface for live. And easy to find downloads with alot coming every week. Its a sure bet every week some new game will be out to dl. However, Ive ran out of room on my 360 last year. ANd i got to say even output on 720 the games look really good. 50 bucks is really not alot of money. This gens controller is nice for 360 also. Couple problems with 360 though. Battery for the controller or a charge kit to insert nicad battery packs in. Price to get it wirelessly on the net. The ability to play a game cause xbox live is down. Only downloads utilize game storage on the harddrive. Meaning you can do saves from a cd or dl a arcade game but you cant install the game from a cd on there like ffxi. (why square gave up on 360.) Most games on 360 arent a exclusive. Alot port to pc or come from pc. 360 as a reliable unit is horrible. The wireless range from the controllers are really good though. too many versions of a 360 showing how many times they messed up. 4 different dvd drives in one year and yet it still cant read disks sometimes. Kinda a flaky investment if you ask me. And dvd qaulity got to be quite honest is horrible on a big screen. Small tvs look ok but so does everything.
ps3 now I would say has a horrible online of course but on top of that before psn servers it semed every developer was on their own. As far as online and as far as developing. Built in wifi is sweet, rechargable controllers are sweet, and great range too. Blueray 2.1 is out of this world. Customization is nice on a ps3. Xbox u dl a skin and thats your 4 blades on ps3 you can customize every column every font every picture to anything you want. If i want to make 3 screens with music and different types of fish graphics representing something i can. The price is reasonable and i added a 500gb hd to mine. I burned movies to it and have a nice little collection on my hd without using my comp or buying a 25 dvd holder. And the quality is the same as a dvd. the second time my 360 broke i just stopped using it. All the money I dl in games onto it went down the drain with it. So short term or long term i would say xbox is pretty close to a computer, begind the times in a couple months and unreliable for the most part. Ps3 is always better and better and sony keeps proving that the future proof system is just that. Take my words and change them all you like, cause games might be the most important thing to you cause it is a gaming machine but like I said above ps3 line up looks to be quite impressive their second year and by this time 2009 lets see how many ppl change thier opnion about the ps3 and the 360.

through the posts ive read, ive come to this conclusion from the ps3 fanboyism:
1. PS3 owners are hoping to get more people to buy the ps3 either they feel ripped off and want others to feel ripped off to make them feel better because they wont be alone.
2. PS3 owners are quiet happy sitting and waiting for games that are not out yet, and rumors are as good as cold hard facts.
3. PS3 owners seem to think the blu ray is automatically going to make better games, and think multiple dvds will cost more money for some reason. (the ps3s blue ray drive is so slow, games are starting to use your precious hard drive space to copy the blue ray disc to it so it can load faster.) and it doesnt matter how much space the media content can hold, it does not automatically equal better graphics or higher resolution.
4) ALL GAMES except for 1 (only 1) at this time are programmed for 720p. not 1080i, not 1080p.
the only difference in 720p and 1080p at this time is screen size in video games. yes you can use 1080p but since the games are ALL being programmed for 720p, you will only be able to tell a difference on a 50 plus inch tv. until developers decide to start making games 1080p this resolution is really worthless other than for HD movies.
5. EVERYONE in the world hates american teenagers because they are jealous (apparently most ps3 owners live in third world countries and cant afford indoor plumbing, or fast internet, but they can afford a PS3.) these ps3 owners need to stop envying american teenagers and get their priorities straight. before you buy a ps3 you should always have a shower in your abode, or your nasty smelling body odor and constantly smelling your nasty ass will make you have a nasty attitude, and many people online will avoid you. please, as a public service message, if you have to take a magazine to your towns public bathroom ( and if said public bathroom is a bush) you dont need a PS3, you need indoor plumbing. and stop hating on american teenagers for taking baths and playing their 360s, ps3s and wiis. many american gamers can afford all 3 AND take baths on a regular basis. (heck we even use toilet paper instead of our fingers and a bowl of water)

Xbox 360 suck is junk a worthless piece or crap. With a huge %33 failure rate no no next gen movie format since their crappy HD-DVD add-on got fucked up big time by Sony’s Blu-ray Disc. Xbox 360 has too many FPS nothing else to offer. Microsoft can’t make games only HALO rehash. Xbox Live is full of cheaters and lagging servers. A side note on upscaling: the DVD forum, which sets all of the standards for DVD players, does not allow DVD upscaling over component video PERIOD. Meaning, you can’t buy any console or DVD player that can upscale DVDs over component video. Therefore, your remarks regarding upscaling are completely negated, as the 360 and PS3 are on equal grounds in that respect (both have the capability of upscaling at purchase time, however you just have to buy + use the proper cables).

i have both the ps3 and the 360. and i am glad i have both systems i had my 360 fixed 1 time and i bought a ps3. and guess what the ps3 stoped reading disks. so i had to send it back. i didnt know there was a problem with the ps3 not reading disks or drive failures. but when i went to sonys ps3 site and looked in there fourms i see a lot of people posting problems. disk read errors/updates bricking systems/games and dvd frezzing up.and a lot of other isssues. i coulnt belive it. so both systems have problems but it look like my ps3 has more then the 360. if you dont belive me just go to sonys web site for the ps3 and look in there fourms. you would be suprised. at this time i could say that nither system is better when it comes to problems. so i dont know why people are saying 1 system is better.

Killzone 2 will surpass Halo 3 – LAWL. I’m sure the sequel to a mediocre game will rise above the HIGHEST gross of an entertainment product within 24 hours of its release EVER. Makes sense to me.
It’s not like you’re desperately hyping up an average game in some pathetic attempt to compete with the 360’s game lineup and justify your purchase. I mean, we all know how well that worked out for Lair. If we are getting territorial and as we are talking figures, the PS3 sold a million units in the UK in just 47 weeks. It took the 360 60 weeks to sell a million.
Blu-Ray does mean more storage, which means better textures, longer and higher quality video, bigger more immersive games etc. I remember people saying we would never fill CD’s with data and they are a waste of time. Then they said we would never need all the space on a DVD. Things progress and we all need to move with the times.
The bottom line is, if you chose to buy a 360 – either live with your decision or trade it in. Don’t moan or try to offend other people because they chose differently. Be tolerant and don’t turn the console battle into an illegal occupation

Yeah, clearly the fact that the PS3 is FINALLY going to have a decent lineup, that means the 360 will fail. It’s not like the 360 is still producing games – they’ve stopped for 2008 to let the PS3 catch up.

I have been a 360 gamer from the beginning.
I have purchase a PS3 about 3 months ago, mainly for blu-ray.
Three days ago do to more 360 hassles, I traded my elite in for credit at local game store and have not looked back!

360 die.. that sucks ive lost many.. (only paid for one tho)
ps3 does not feel as good… controller.. games
fan of both. 360 for games ps3 for free online and blueray (really the big hitter going for it, only real reason i bought it)
right now tho my ps3 after 3 months is acting up, freezing, FUCKING controller not not connecting, bluetooth headsets locking it up.
I want to smash the fuck outa both my systems.. they all have huge flaws. but NUTHING it perfect lets just deal with it..
I like 360 better over all… my opinion. you like ps3? cool thats yours.
