New Playstation Network Store ditches browser, pictures published

The new Playstation Network Store will ditch the slow PS3 browser for a sleeker, faster user-interface, says Sony.
Up until now, Sony’s Playstation Network Store — accesible via the PS3 — was slow, cumbersome, and somewhat ugly. It seems millions of PSN users agree with us as Sony’s changing the store because of a mass PAL region survey conducted last year.
The store will not be updated with any content until the new version hits PS3 consoles along with the 2.30 firmware sometime in later April.
Eurogamer, which is responsible for the scoop, managed to procure a few special pictures of the new store.
Our first take was dissapointment, but that’s just regarding the appearance. It looks very similar to the old store, which doesn’t conjure up favorable feelings. However, if this store ditches the old store’s ridiculous sluggishness and lack of content, we could easily find ourselves actually spending money on something other than Flow and Warhawk expansion packs — and enjoy doing it too!
