Most gamers are justifiably excited about the soon-to-be-released Grand Theft Auto IV; many of those same individuals are probably at least somewhat interested in the comic-book-story-turned-film Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr. However, some people think that the popularity of Grand Theft Auto might push Iron Man from the debut limelight, as both are slated for release during the same week.

One of the best first person shooters/adventure game for the PC and Xbox 360 will be getting a sequel that’s not really a sequel at all. BioShock let us experience the underwater city of Rapture after it had fallen where splicers, little sisters and Big Daddy’s were running amok; it told us how the story ended. What was rapture like before all that happened? The sequel will tell us.

Are next gen (or this generation consoles by now) about to become part of a price cutting war? With Microsoft already dropping the price of the Xbox 360 in Europe to try and reverse falling sales, if Sony follows suit, hi def gaming could be about to come a whole lot more affordable.

At this year’s Game Developer’s Conference, a Sony boss shared several facts about the Playstation Network as he pitched the PSN / PS3 / PSP platform to third-party developers, concluding third parties "frequently do things better."

Hooray! Whoopee! Huzzah! The Xbox 360 is getting price cuts in Europe, oh the noble deliverance of it all! Can I interrupt for a few seconds of your time to point out that just because the 360 is cheaper, it isn’t necessarily any less liable to cause you grief and anguish like its expensive predecessors?

There’s been a lot of talk over the last few days concerning Microsoft’s proposed plans to phase out the 20GB hard drive Xbox 360 in favour of a brand spanking new 60GB model. But is that enough? One analyst certainly doesn’t think so, and argues the case for Microsoft upping it to 500GB.

The media has been clamoring as of late to bring hell’s fury against gaming consoles and their games; not to let trivial issues pass by without being overblown, the media has decided to bring its wrath against Xbox, its Live service Xbox’s harmless little camera. A couple child gamers were exposed to nudity via the Xbox Live camera, and justifiably, police and authorities have rightfully claimed that gaming consoles are the new venues for sexual predators.

It seems we can put to rest the rumors about the Xbox 360 price cut; it has already begun in Europe. A Dutch retailer is advertising what I presume to be the Xbox 360 arcade system for €199.

This is another story that keeps circulating around in various incarnations but there’s a new twist to it; this time. Come next week, Microsoft may be cutting the price in Europe on the Xbox 360 so much so that the Arcade system will cost less than the Wii.

Despite being light years behind the PS3 and Xbox 360 in terms of technical and graphical capabilities, the Wii is outselling both of them at a preposterous rate each month. Which begs the question: Will the Wii actually outlive its superior rivals?
