Nintendo Wii may get new first person shooter, The Conduit
By now most of you should now how I feel about the Nintendo Wii but that won’t stop me from covering something that could be very good for the console. Up until now, Nintendo has been pushing its warmed over Mario-based games and Wii sports; if that’s your thing, great but it’s not mine and never will be, ever. A game called The Conduit may change all that, if it gets published.
The Wii lacks games that are not "cartoony" in some way. I don’t know what it is but it’s time to put Mario out to pasture and that includes Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. It’s been done, over and over and over and over, ad infinitum.
Let’s hope that The Conduit does find itself a publisher because the game looks, okay. I say that because the limiting factor here is the Wii’s hardware. The game looks like something that could have been made 10 years ago or barely passable for the original Xbox but it’s still better than current Wii offerings.

I do want the game to get published if only to give Nintendo a push in another direction, as in NO MORE MARIO GAMES! Or at least, something in addition to besides Legend of Zelda and "cartoony" games.
Yes, there is Red Steel which bombed, enough said, and RE4. It’s not enough, though. I’m just as likely to play Mario Kart, Wii Sports or Smash Brothers as I am to become King of England.
Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation said it best, you know he’s right and Nintendo fans can’t seem to be able to take it that the Wii is a last-gen console in next-gen sheep’s clothing. It could be said that true "gamers" can’t take the fact that the Wii is the best selling console. It’s true, it’s hard to take because it’s a lousy excuse for a console. It’s a toy and it might be great today but I promise you, it’ll be collecting dust on a closet floor inside of three months after you get it.
Did you honestly think I could write a post about a Nintendo game without revisiting these points? Don’t give me too much credit.

First off, No More Heroes is already a game a-typical of the Wii, and a very good game at that. Also, you should look into other titles set for the Wii, such as Mad World and Sadness, two titles which will definitely not be for little kids.
Developers didn’t expect the Wii to have this much success, therefore they weren’t prepared to develop excellent titles for it. Once they realized how popular the console was, several rushed to create lousy titles, while several other decided to create good games for the console. The thing is, good games take time to create. The great titles on 360 or PS3 have been years in the making, whereas the great games for Wii weren’t even planned until after the console showed promising sales. You have to give developers time to create and release good software for the Wii.
Claiming the Wii is a last-gen console is simply willful ignorance at this point. The 360 and PS3 have done nothing more than beef up their hardware, whereas Nintendo’s actually working on changing the way video games are played. They’ve created something new, which is obvious by just looking at the impact it’s had on the industry. If you don’t think the Wii has changed the rules of the console war, you’re just blind.

Wii is just like PS2 but with horrible cartoony games and Mario rehashes. The Wii graphics are not evn last gen they are just horrible just like the console is inside.

Oh boy, ignorant HD gamers and bleeding heart Wii supporters. Not to mention the dillweed who wrote the article (probably crying in his bowl of fruit loops every time the Wii gets more games).
Ahh, I had a great weekend of playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Mario Kart and Lost Winds.
But I still have enough time to watch gamerchimp meltdowns.

The are many good Wii Games out there without “cartony look”: Re4, Umbrella Chronicles, Scarface, Metroid Prime 3, Manhunt 2, Red Steel, Medal of Honour: Heroes 2 etc.
Now a lot of publisher see that many shooter-gamer bought a Wii because of the perfect fitting Wii-Controls for this genre. No real shooter fan like the last-last-gen Xbox/PS3-gampad.
Ego-Shooter in pipeline for the Wii: Red Steel 2, The Conduit, Cod5 und Ubisofts Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30. And there are many more exclusive action games production like Mad World, Disaster:Day of Crisis.

so a generic looking FPS is coming out for the wii, and you’re all excited.
