By now most of you should now how I feel about the Nintendo Wii but that won’t stop me from covering something that could be very good for the console. Up until now, Nintendo has been pushing its warmed over Mario-based games and Wii sports; if that’s your thing, great but it’s not mine and never will be, ever. A game called The Conduit may change all that, if it gets published.

The April sales figures for the U.S. were released at the end of last week by NPD. They again showed the Wii way out in front, beating the PS3 and Xbox sales figures combined for yet another month, despite the release of Grand Theft Auto IV. But of course, Sony and Microsoft couldn’t just admit that they are losing the current generation console battle so they instead issued press releases spinning the figures their way.

It’s all well and good arguing amongst ourselves about which console is best, but what do other non-Blorgers think? According to a new survey on the state of gaming amongst teenagers, the Playstation 3 comes out on top.

The Nintendo Wii has been kicking the Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360′s butts on a monthly basis for the last year. However, it was assumed that the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 in April would put a stop to that and allow them to catch up. Not a chance.

The latest Playstation 3 update just hit the airwaves, and many hoped it would fix the infamous Grand Theft Auto IV problems. Unfortunately for them, the 2.35 update has nothing to do with the crime-based epic.

For some reason the Xbox 360 seems to generate rumours in a much higher number than either the PS3 or the Wii. And here we have another one – and this time it’s a biggie. If true, it means there will be a new and improved model of the Xbox 360 released over the next 18 months.

As I’ve been so graciously deemed the resident Sony fanboy of Blorge, I feel it is my duty to report all things Sony speak so the all you trolls can tear it to shreds. Sony feels that forthcoming massive multiplayer online titles, specifically the forthcoming “The Agency,” will draw gamers to the Playstation 3 in droves and hordes.

Microsoft are the masters of spinning sales figures to make it and the products it sells better. So it is again, as the company has talked up the fact that it has sold 10 million units of the Xbox 360 in the US. This comes at the same time as sales figures for the last year show that the PS3 is still being outsold by the PS2.

The release of Grand Theft Auto 4 was always going to be huge, and so it turned out, with gamers on both sides of the true current gen divide (excusing the Wii for now) buying the game in droves. However, being a multi-format release it was also going to be a clear test as to which console was currently dominant.

If you haven’t been keeping an eye on the FPS genre recently, you have been missing some serious advances in shooters for both the PS3 and the 360. Is there any chance that these gorgeously killer FPS titles could swing gamers from one console to the other?
