PS3 has better 2008 games line-up than Xbox 360, Wii, Chuck Norris

Which current-gen console has the best games due out over the next few months? Is it the Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii? Can either of the hand-held console options, the DS and PSP, even compete? We asked our readers, and the results are in.
There are a lot of different factors that can influence whether someone buys a games console or not. You have the quality of graphics, the price, peer pressure and much more besides. But the biggest influence has to be the quality of the games, and the line-up of titles due over the next few months. Hence that was the subject of our poll for the last month.
Overall, we had 1504 votes in the 30 days that the poll was running, and so the results are a pretty accurate reflection of the thoughts of the GAMER.BLORGE readership. Or it could alternatively show what proportion of fanboys for each console read the site regularly.
We asked the question: Which games machine has the best games line-up for the rest of the year? The results show that our readers believe the Playstation 3 has by far the most promising games release schedule for the remaining six months of the year, with the Xbox 360 and Wii massively behind.

Microsoft Xbox 360 - 282 - 19% of all votes
Chuck Norris - 143 - 10% of all votes
Nintendo Wii - 110 - 7% of all votes
Nintendo DS - 22 - 1% of all votes
Sony PSP - 15 - 1% of all votes
Not ps3… it sucks mah ballz - 15 - 1% of all votes
Apple PIPIn - 13 - 1% of all votes
Amiga - 10 - 1% of all votes
not xbox 360 it just gay - 5 - 0% of all votes
NES - 4 - 0% of all votes

As you can see, the PS3 won by a huge margin, with 59% of all votes. The Xbox 360 came second with 19% of all votes, with the Wii coming in fourth with just 7%. The reason the Wii could only manage fourth was because Chuck Norris snuck in to third with 143 votes, or 10% of the vote.
I wasn’t aware Chuck Norris was a games machine but seeing as he has done well in our polls for the last few months, maybe you all know something I don’t?! Or it could just be that some of you are slightly retarded and get confused between a games console and an over-the-hill martial arts action movie star.
It’s no real surprise that the PS3 came out on top, with Metal Gear Solid 4 having just been released, and such gems as Soul Calibur IV, Wipeout HD, Little Big Planet and Bioshock due out before year end. Other big name exclusives such as Final Fantasy XIII could also appear in that time frame.
We’ve now moved on to a new poll, which asks: How do you Blorgermites feel about getting your own login profile page here on GAMER.BLORGE? The question is intended to make an initial evaluation as to whether the readership here would like some more interactive features on the site or not. Sorry but 1,500 over a month (any more popular site such as ign, etc., would of had at least 10,000 votes over that same time) isn’t really anything worth writing about. 1,500 anonymous internet users, who may or may not be gamers, is hardly representative of the millions of actual gamers out there. The one month time span of the survey (which in research is quite possibly the worst way to gain reliable data) presents a lot of issues as well. Aside from the short time span, at this point in time maybe MS hasn’t revealed a lot of their line-up, something they always do. OR, the MS marketing campaign hasn’t gotten started yet so gamers aren’t yet informed.
Personally I think MS’s RPG’s, Halo Wars, and Gears of War 2 is enough to blow anything PS3 has right out of the water. Although I am planning to pick up Killzone 2 and Socom. BUT, don’t be surprised by MS surprise releases of Jade Empire 2, MechAssault, MechWarrior, and on and on.

PLAYSTATION 3 is a kick ass gaming system with full of hot games and exclusives a truly must have gaming dream system. Xbox 360 has no good games that’s why it sucks so much and red light of death and no Wi-Fi. PS3 definitely starting kick serious ass everywhere. Sony Rulez #1 4 LiFe

Like Dave said, this is pretty much the percentage of fanboys who read the site regularly. A poll with more votes from multiple sites would yield different results.

i’m thinking ivan_psp learned how to clear his cookies and voted, oh say, around 800 times. it’s a completely stupid poll as NOONE knows how good a game will be until it’s here. remrember that killzone was hyped as a halo killer. the reality was, it didn’t even come close.

Wow ! How uninformed is everybody ?
PS3 has Resistace 2 and Little Big Planet for big exclusives left this year.
360 has Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Too Human, Halo Wars, 2 brand new RPG’s from Square Enix ( final fantasy makers ),2 more big exclusive RPG’s like The Last Remnant and Banjo Kazooie.
360’s lineup blows PS3’s out of the water.

Motorstorm 2, Killzone 2, Socom , Tekken 6 , Infamous, Final Fantasy, GT5 (est 2009 but possible late 2008 release) just to name a few that you so happened to miss tgrass21 added to the ones you already mentioned.
If you’re going to make an argument at least give a balanced educated representation of what you mean or don’t comment at all.
Also i still really enjoy MGS4, lets not forget that.

bourne - why hype kz2 when the first one sucked? as did Shellshock:Vietnam, the other crappy fps from Guerrilla? a sequel to a flop isn’t much to hype about…. SOCOM? i don’t see that matching COD4’s appeal and gameplay as the other SOCOM’s suffered from terrible AI and online cheating…. Motorstorm could be nice tho. i don’t know why GT5 was brought up since it’s a 09 release…. but i guess you guys need all the hype you can get….

bourne - i HAVE played socom and killzone. check the reviews. my opinion is supported by the industry. you gave no facts, you’re even guessing about gt5’s release when kaz himself doesn’t know for certain. the fact is kz blew, shellshock: vietnam blew, socom had problems and no word of gt5 releasing this year.

Killzone is 2009, everyone knows that. GT5 MIGHT be out in 2009 but not confirmed, could be 2010, Tekken 6 2009 and Final Fantasy is also 2009. Socom is the only one possible for 2008 they said but it won’t do squat with COD4 and the Battlefield games out. GT5 to be out at the VERY LEAST ONE YEAR after prologue.
I know exactly what i’m talking about and like I said, Resistance 2 and Little Big Planet are all that will be out in 2008.
KILLZONE 1 sucked, why should anyone assume KILLZONE 2 will be good ?

Personally, i dont care when they come out. This year has already been a success for ps3. Great games, great leap forward in software and Microsoft have been left in the dust by bleeding out what they can get from halo, and geow 2. everything else is negligable and is suffering from the “wtf is that” syndrome.
as long as we get those games eventually, i dont care. All you’ve really got is GeOW 2 and possibly halo wars to rely on.

Ivan_PSP’s doctor here, oficially letting you all know that he is severely retarded - Why? Wow Microsoftitus (closely related to Sonyificus) is spreading across this site. ohh no… dont say the 360 was left in the dust Bourne… dont forget… GTA 4 sold more copies on the 360s… I consider this year to be a very very balanced year… last year was just sad for the ps3… this year they are both neck in neck… and the Wii is still kickin ass…

though I have to say… Gaiden 2 probably had the least after hype than I expected…. so many games had hype after being released… like MGS 4 and GTA 4 and Haze (negative hype)… but Gaiden somehow wasnt as big a moneymaker as Halo… which I didnt get….
I was soo pissed at Killzone 2 being delayed for geow2… I think Kz2 would be a better competition for the geow 2 than resistance 2…

A 360 price drop means PS3 will have to price drop again. PS3 has already price dropped twice in the last few months, another price drop will lose them another 50 bucks per console. That loss will lessen the positive impact of their software sales even more then it has already.
With a huge holiday line up and consoles under $300 bucks, 360 is going to have a sales surge.
PS3 has only outsold 360 by a little over 100,000 consoles this year, thats nothing. 360 still leads by over 5 million and thats with a game attatch rate of 7.1, thats compared to Sony’s 3.4. So lets take the $150 dollar loss on every PS3 considering the NEW price drop and add the 3.4 games , you get a positive cash flow of 54.00 dollars….and that’s saying sony gets all the money from each game sale, they actually get about 30% on their exlusives MAYBE.
So if you can’t tell, games make the money and Sony isn’t selling much. Even the Wii has a better attach rate and the Wii’s game lineup is terrible.

The 360’s attach rate is quite impressive, but it includes all the dumb little XBLA title that the “hardcorez” download just for the achievements. It’s a misleading statistic, but props to MS for the whole Gamerscore concept in the first place. It’s a great way to sell games without having to bother with little things like making the games “good.”

Arvis-The attach rate actually doesn’t include Xbox Live purchases. MS has a completely different catagory for that. Xbox Live arcade games and Xbox originals are counted only as DLC or Game Content and MS points trasactions.
I thought the same as you at first but did some more research out of curiosity and found out different.
360 is a hardcore gamers machine so it makes sense. PS3 is more of a novelty these days, mine is.

arvis - i love how you twist my statements. but since you brought it up; gtaiV has failed to move any significant ps3 in sales. gt prologoe also failed. mgs4 also has failed to move many ps3 in sales. yet, xbox live arcade is one of the selling points of the 360 and the 360 continues to outsell the ps3. you do the math.
