Breaking E3 news: Microsoft Xbox 360 gets Final Fantasy XIII, unveils Lips and Eyetoy knockoff

Just breaking news apparently Microsoft has scored big by getting Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360! So it seems it will no longer be PS3 exclusive but will be a multiplatform title. wow, this is big news folks. Right out of left field, no one suspected this or imagined this at all.
Among the rumors and supposed Microsoft leaks were that of a new game called Lips, which was speculated to be the answer to Sony’s hugely successful and popular Sing Star. Now not only has Microsoft verified this game does indeed exists they have also confirmed an Eye Toy knock off software as well called the “You’re In the Movies.”
You’re in the Movies, seems to be very similar to the Sony Eye Toy software that lets you be the director and create short videos and edit them (like the ones made by Sony in their commercials). I suppose this is the basic necessity of today’s viral video world. Apparently you can create videos and upload them to Xbox Live.
However I am curious how Microsoft will combat inappropriate material like male anatomy displays, no thank you. I suppose they will have some sort of panel or moderators that go around auditing the videos much like Forza 2 fiasco.
Am I surprised by Lips? Nah, not at all. The rumors have been circulating form months and it just made sense they would have something to combat Sony’s successful Sing Star. Much like Guitar Hero, if it’s successful follow it.
Apparently according to Microsoft’s press conference via Kotaku, Lips will use fantastic Mics that have some motion sensing or vibration sensing mechanism built in so when you smack it against your hand it will simulate tambourines or something to that effect. How super is that?
I have to say Microsoft scored big with Final Fantasy XIII, they must have paid an amount equaling five small countries’ GDP now. Good job Microsoft, way to end the conference with a huge bang enough for Sony to feel it during their press conference.

The Final Fantasy thing I am sure will enrage some PS3 lovers and make 360 users very happy indeed, nice move by MS - still at least its multi platform even if that does makes the ps3 and 360 even more alike (not that ill be buying it).

Wow this is huge news! You know everyone speculates about the big announcements at E3 but who saw this coming. I just can’t believe it. No way this can be topped. This may just change my gaming life forever! Excuse me while I go change my pants. (extreme sarcasm!)

I hope there is significant PS3 news which isn’t Home, because that FFXIII treachory was almost a knockout punch on my fanboy heart. At least we still get it.

Well this is slightly disapointing (looking at u Square Enix), I’m not really into my RPG’s but I was thinking about getting it (it looked amazing), so I thought well it’s on the PS3 exclusively so they must want to do something new and different from regular RPG’s(looking at u Lost Odyssey, good but same old, same old) and really make a giant leap forward and not be worried about making more money (it would have made plently anyway) but making the game they want to make…. How wrong I was
Got a feeling this is just a money maker game now, likely to be very similar gameplay to regular RPG’s (but with the good FF edge). It’s a shame they have decided not to push the PS3 and Blu-ray further and now the game will be held back by the underpowered 360.
Well at least the ps3 will have one blu-ray for the game whilst 360 will have about 8 DVD’s, I mean Lost Odyssey did have 4!

They could’ve announced the x-platform of MGS4
As it stands, its a larger than average game (lets face it here, everyone still loves FF7), but lets just see what Sony has coming tomorrow.

If they port it to the 360 from the Ps3 version the Ps3 will still have the upper hand visually! For me I never got into final fantasy so I don’t care too much. Sorry to you who do.
I am interested to see what Sony has tomorrow, but I don’t have high hopes. I think E3 gets way too much hype and doesn’t really deliver. With the competition these days these companies can’t wait to get info out, they just don’t wait around with big suprises anymore. My guess is they will announce one big game and more Home crap!

Final Fantasy XIII will come out on PLAYSTATION 3 a year earlier than the Xbox 360 version. Also Final Fantasy XIII will still be a PS3 exclusive in Japan and Final Fantasy Versus XIII still a ps3 exclusive. Microsoft didn’t show any that was worth watching the new interface looks terrible. Lips is just a Singstar rip off which looks like crap.

spidey - not really. the team making bioshock for the ps3 is not the same team that made it for the 360. what ps3 players will get is only a guess at this point…

Sorry Harry, doesn’t effect me. It’s good it makes you so happy. Are you planning on playing it? I have to agree with Matt, if PS3 sucks so much, why do you want our games so bad? I can’t think of one 360 exclusive that I want, not one. If Halo Wars came to Ps3(I know that’s impossible) I sure as hell wouldn’t buy it.
