Breaking E3 news: Microsoft Xbox 360 to have 3D interface and Mii-like Avatars

Currently the Microsoft press conference is in progress and they have just unveiled what we have been speculating for the past few weeks here on Gamer Blorge, a new 3D interface and a Mii-like Avatar system! Wow, can’t say I am surprised but this is still awesome news folks!
It is speculated Rare is behind the new avatar development and design they look all cute like the Mii avatars. You can also customize their clothes, hairstyle and accessorize them. Now when you view your friends list you can actually view their avatar as well as see it on their Gamercard, nice.
According to the press conference via Kotaku there will be thousands of items you can get for your avatar, I assume for purchase. Also with the new 3D interface you can now browse and schedule shows for viewing pleasure, called the new Xbox Live Primetime.
This update is scheduled for some time later this Fall. Wow, I am glad they delayed the Spring update to bring us this! Can’t be too surprised it seems like all the companies want to get into the avatar business nowadays.
This is definitely going to be a huge update though with a new interface and retooling the Gamercard. Now it seems like there will be a more visual type of party system then the old text based system we were used to with our friends list.
Information on the new 3D interface is a bit sparse still, we will put up new info as they get released later this week. Apparently Microsoft has also partnered up with Netflix and bringing you over 1000 movies to your Xbox 360.
I assume this is all through the new 3D interface they have been talking up. Also it looks like Microsoft will allow you to share your Netflix movies with your Live Party! Woo hoo! I assume this is sort of like PS3 Home where you can have your friends over your pad and watch movies on your virtual TV, nice.

Really there is no difference between the systems, they all copy each other to a certain extent. It doesn’t matter which system you own, they each share (or will at some point) the same features.
When one system has a good feature, the others will “eventually” follow suit.

It DOES matter which console you own. Wii is interactive, Xbox 360 is fun and high-graphics and great high-selling games. PS3 jsut gets the games that dont make it to 360. Notihng specail about PS3 except Fall of Man.

No MS didn’t back the wrong horse. That is a rediculous claim to make when HD DVD at the time Out Featured Bluray. Features which they only come out with in Feb 2008 (BD Live). Sony paid for their horse to win. That’s why they can’t afford to get exclusive content and that is why Final Fantasy is not Exclusive to Sony anymore.

Kev- Toshiba new they were going to lose, that’s why they backed out. You have an excuse for everything! Hypothetically speaking if Sony did buy them out, how is that different than what M$ does everyday? Toshiba saw the number of PS3’s selling with bluray, how could they compete with that? Movie studios also saw it and started dropping them. You can put down the Ps3 for including bluray, but it is the reason that HD-DVD is no more. You need to get over it, it’s done!

Toshiba knew they had the upper hand with the branding of hd dvd and didn’t market that hard as it’s waaaay too early in the lifecyle to do so profitably. i’ll be you think it’s pure coincidence sony sold the cell manufacturing to toshiba just before toshiba bowed out, don’t you?

no sport, it’s not the reason toshiba bowed out. particularly when you consider sony’s desperation in including the free bluray movies with the ps3 as movies “sold” to pad the numbers.

if studios were certain to bow out, why did even disney entertain the idea of going hd dvd even after saying they were bluray exclusively? bah..nevermind..your answer will be more assumptions and opinions that have zero base in reality….again..

Wow Kev, your double standards are showing again….It’s ok for m$ to buy out anything and everything, but if Sony does it (IF THEY DID) they are hieness offenders…..
NEWS FLASH…. Microsoft backed the wrong horse ….simple, no excuses.
HD-DVD lost the format war as did Sony BetaMax - no excuses.
No billion dollar losses for m$ eh Kev and CAD, without mentioning the “4 letter word of death”
But you don’t have to take it from me, you both know more than any person EVER, about the gaming industry as you like to spruk all the time. Considering you know ABSOLUTELY nothing about the other posters here, thats a big call to make.

spidey - what SPECIFICALLY did ms buy out that’s related to the 360.. if you’re going to go outside of the gmaing side, i’ll introduce the expolding batteries of sony, DRM fiasco, the computers they trashed, fake movie reviews, lies, and other goodies. so what did ms buy out on the gaming side?
to say toshiba “lost the war” is ludacris when they were bought out.
yes, it’s very clear we have a muuuch better understanding and memory of the gaming industry than you do. most of what you post is opinion with no base in reality. ie; a sony fanboy.
one has to wonder; sony said “bluray is the future” before the ps3 came out. now? “downloading movies and bluray are the future”, apparently… they’re already weakening on their bluray stance. you just refuse to see it.

I don’t need to “qualify” myself to you the “almighty know all of everything gaming”. This site is all about offering opinions and besides, it is also VERY well known what m$ have been up too (as well as Sony - see thats me being a “fanboy” again Kev…tool) Anyhting that goes wrong, m$ will throw money at it. Any games they want to steal of other platforms, m$ throw money at them. And if they don’t like it, they throw more money at them and try a hostile take over.
