PS3 is the best console ever - beating Xbox 360, Wii & Your Mum

For the last month, we here at GAMER.BLORGE have been running a poll to find out ‘Which console is the best of all time (so far)?’ The results are in, and they show that our readers consider the PS3 to be the best console ever, after it took the title from the Xbox 360, Wii and Your Mum.
Deciding what is the best console of all time is a pretty subjective thing. I, for one, own many different consoles, both from this gen and those already gone, and cherish all of them. It really depends how you judge what is best: games, graphics, multimedia functions, or fun factor.
The full results of the poll to find ‘Which console is the best of all time (so far)?’ are:

The PS3 won by quite a margin, managing 794 votes compared to the second placed Xbox 360 on 509 votes. The Sony console got almost a third of the total 2707 votes polled, ensuring it a relatively easy victory.
The PS2 showed its enduring appeal (or just the amount of Sony fanboys we have here at Blorge) by coming in third, way ahead of the Wii. The Nintendo console, despite leading the sales charge of this generation, could only muster 151 votes, or 6% of the total. Quite shocking seeing as everyone and their dog seems to own a Wii these days.
The SNES came in fifth, but could have actually beaten the Wii. Obviously some people didn’t realise the SNES was the same console as the Super Nintendo and so a split vote harmed its final position in the poll.
Of the ever present joke entries we get in our polls, Your Mum came out on top, managing to score 74 votes, making it a better regarded console than the Dreamcast, PS1, and original Xbox amongst others. Again, it could have done better but 11 idiots voted for Ur Mom instead.
Chuck Norris underperformed, while Juicy Ass was the best console ever in 47 people’s opinion. last but not least, I’ve got no idea what an Elf tit machine yay!!! is but 4 of you felt it deserved a place in the console hall of fame. Which is a worry.
Thanks to all who voted. A new poll is now live on the site, asking ‘What is the best game of all time?’ I’ve given you a selection of ten of the best to kick off proceedings but as always, feel free to add your own answers.

None of the current gen consoles should even be in the running. I voted for the SNES. Those were the days. Wonderful games, many I still play, came out on the SNES.
Say this time next year, though, Sony is ready to tank the PS3, saying its not making enough money, or, rather, losing too much money. While I’m sure all the Sony loyalists would still say its the best console ever, it wouldn’t be.
Nor is it better than most consoles in the past right now. This generation is far too young to be making judgements about where any of the consoles stand.
I think, more than anything, it shows the youth of gamers today.
FF7 winning so far in this poll says the same, considering FF6 was better. FF7 is the younger gamer’s favorite game because its normally one of the first they played.

Kev- you didn’t just give us a link to MS releasing sales numbers, that they got from an analyst did you? That’s the way I read it, maybe I’m wrong. Please correct me if I’m wrong. And why would MS use Chart Track, and not give us their numbers. Sorry, hard to trust in those numbers, but who knows maybe they are right.

Kev- over reacting a little aren’t you. If you read my post I said the numbers are hard to trust coming from an analyst, but could be right. In other words I wouldn’t be surprised if they were correct. But in the link YOU provided it said that MS was using Chart Tracks, but refused to give their own numbers. Sorry, but it is just like MS or Sony for that matter to use these numbers to make themselves look good, whether they are true or not. Give me reliable facts and I will CHOOSE to except them.
