Tull is to blame for Brash Entertainment shut down

Tull is to blame for Brash Entertainment shut down In a shocking revelation today, Brash Entertainment, a video game developer for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, is said to be shutting down for good. This may have been a long time coming with the former co-founder Thomas Tull leaving the company a while back. The publisher has been facing difficulty in recent times with its lackluster performance.

Brash Entertainment is well known in the industry for developing tie-in video games to movies. The video game company was co-founded by Thomas Tull, who is also the chairman for Legendary Pictures. The reason why his name might sound so familiar was because we wrote a story on him recently regarding a rumored EPIC Games buyout.

Tull was speculated to be in talks with Gears of War developer EPIC Games on a buy-out of the studio. Also, Legendary Pictures is financing a Gears of War movie currently. The speculation is that Tull has not given up hope on creating a movie/game studio  powerhouse.

According to Variety, after Tull left Brash Entertainment, investors who have poured $400 million into the video game company have pulled all of their money from the publisher. In other words the company is shutting down due to lack of funds.

Brash Entertainment is in the midst of publishing four new video games which are due out next month. The movie-based video games that are set to release next month consist of: Saw, Superman, Night at the Museum 2 and Tale of Desperaux. Other notable games released by Brash Entertainment are Jumper: Griffin’s Story and Space Chimps.

With the downturn in the economy, video game publishers such as EA and Activision have also reported layoffs in recent times, despite high profits. With video game development costs skyrocketing, selling well might not cut it for most developers. When the most profitable publisher are facing economic woes, you can bet the smaller publishers will be the first ones to close shop.

I am not sorry for that studio’s demise… the crap they were making wouldve made them bankrupt anyways… I hope the programmers and the animators are put to good use in another studio in better games… their talents were being wasted anyways…

I totally agree. I have never even heard of them before.

So the world has been saved the pain of having the crappy movie tie-ins of Saw, Superman, Night at the Museum 2 and Tale of Desperaux. Jumper: Griffin’s Story and Space Chimps? Sounds like the world has been saved from a lot of crappy games.
