Brash stiffing PS3 and Xbox 360 developers

Brash stiffing PS3 and Xbox 360 developers Recently, video game publisher Brash Entertainment announced they will be closing down for good. Stemming from the closure of the company, two developers are coming forward to sue Brash Entertainment for compensation of unpaid work. Things are looking worse than ever for the defunct company.

According to GI.biz, two development studios have now come forward to file a lawsuit against the movie related video game publisher, Brash Entertainment. Earlier this month rumors were circulating that the company would be shutting down due to all of the investors pulling their money out of the company.

Not that long after the rumor, the company publicly announced its closure. Brash Entertainment has been responsible for cranking out those tiresome movie related video games. One of the studios that is suing the company is LA based 7 Studios.

7 Studio claims that Brash owes the studio $468,000 for 9, a game based on a upcoming Tim Burton movie. The studio also claims that Brash owes them $113,000 for another video game called Six Flags Fun Park.  A video game based on Six Flags – I wonder why Brash isn’t paying the studio for such a fabulous title?

Zootfly is the other studio that is claiming that Brash owes them $748,000 for unpaid work. That is a nice hefty chunk of money Brash owes them. Considering how broke the company is, I really wonder how Brash will be able to pay these two studios. Zootfly has been working on a video game adaptation to the highly acclaimed TV show, Prison Break.

It was definitely a brilliant business idea to form a video game company with goals to solely crank out shovelware. Games like Spiderman and Sponge Bob definitely prove that there is a market out there for these types of games. However, the problem is that none of the studios seem to be very good at making them.

Brash Entertainment is/was a stain on the video game community. I am glad to see them go. Now if only we could do away with some of those companies that produce horrible shovelware for the Wii, we might be on to something huge.
