Xbox 360 GTA IV DLC detailed – The Lost and Damned
Grand Theft Auto IV made its debut at the end of April to plaudits from gamers and critics alike. It has since sold well over 10 million copies on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 with more sales sure to come from the PC release in December. And now, after a long wait, we have the first details and a release date for the new DLC.
The new downloadable episodic content for GTA IV is called The Lost and Damned and will be released on Feb. 17, 2009. As expected, this DLC will be exclusive to the Xbox 360, with PS3 owners losing out thanks to Microsoft paying a small fortune in order to obtain exclusivity for its console.
The episode with be available to download by any Xbox 360 owner with a retail copy of the game and an Xbox Live membership. No price has yet been set although somewhere between $15 and $20 seems to be the consensus of guesstimates.
USA Today reveals the nature of the episode, which unlike the main game, won’t follow the trials and tribulations of Niko Bellic. Instead, Johnny Klebitz will be the star this time around. Klebitz is a member of Liberty City biker gang The Lost, who cross paths with Bellic several times during the full game.

Dan Houser, vice president of creative development for Rockstar Games says:
Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background. I can’t go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.
The story is not directly impacted by decisions you took in the main game, [but] tons of details and mysteries from the main story get explained, so it will add a lot of color to the main story.
The add-on is expected to be rated M and add hours of new gameplay time. With the full game having sold in the quantity it has, Rockstar is looking at selling 2-3 million copies of the DLC, making the company a tidy profit on top of the revenue it has already made from the fourth installment in the Grand Theft Auto series.
I can’t help thinking that Rockstar has done itself a disservice by making the episodic content exclusive to the Xbox 360 though as I’m sure PS3 owners would have snapped up the DLC just as readily as Xbox 360 owners. I can only guess at how many millions Microsoft paid the company to twist its arm.
However, there’s nothing to say that the PS3 won’t get its own DLC in the future, with only the first episode thought to be secured by Microsoft. The whole idea of episodic content would suggest further episodes to follow so Xbox 360 shouldn’t gloat too hard come February.

Its about bloody time…
Alas, I own it for my PS3 and not my 360, and thus will not be purchasing it.
However! One day, when I am very very bored, I may pick up the controller and finish GTA4… Who knows! By that time the DLC may have been released for PS3!
In conclusion
its about time, but I really don’t care because GTA was an overrated hype fest that just didn’t live up to expectations! (in my opinion)…

I hate GTA IV check out my Xbox 360 profile i have it. I hate the new driving handling it feels like crap especially using the Xbox 360 controller. On PLAYSTATION 3 is easier to play. This downloadable content is not gonna bring any new customer i won’t bother unless is free it didn’t help ever. I bet Microsoft thought that this will be a big impact but no one really cared.

personally i think that PS3 should get it to because Microsoft would make a killing selling it to PS3 owners. But this thought that PS3 will get it’s own dlc is so ludacris. sony did not secure it so your not getting anything. also remember this is 1 of 2 dlc

The game did sell more on XBOX 360 so if you’re going to pick one console it’s the logical choice.

Even if it was available for the PS3, I wouldn’t get it.
I never completed GTA4. At some point I got bored.
The shortcoming of the game also pissed me off. Nothing worse than playing a half hour into a mission to start over at the beginning because you die. There needed to be a checkpoint system, or some other way to save during missions. I’m still stuck on the bank heist mission. I’ve heard your accomplices banter so many times I could practically recite it verbatim.

The bank mission was intense. I think it took me five or six times. I am right at the very end of the game. I never actually finished it.
I put the game down for a few months and when I went back to it, I think I just lost all of my momentum. I’m up to the part were the older Italian guy tells you to kill the other Italian guy (names?).
They just released trophies for the PS3 version, but I can’t see replaying the whole game again just for the trophies. I am interested in seeing how long these extra missions are.

Yeah same for me I think Barnabe.
I wasn’t that amazed with it in the first place. The funny thing is, saints row 2 seemed more fun to me and it was a buggy ass, totally un-polished game.
They’ve never topped Vice city imo at least as far as fun and storyline (even city design) are concerned.

yeah… the bank job was soo cool… took me about 3 turns… good tip… use lotsa grenades…
They actually released the patch for it when I was betrayed by Dmitri and had to move to the second safehouse… I was pissed and thought that I was halfway throught the game… man… I found one of the old war buddies… ITS STILL NOT OVER!!!
so… started over from there… now probably in the middle… having fun… and praying to gawd that I dont have to finish the game again on the 360 in order to access the DLC… PLEASE ROCKSTAR NO MORE!!!!
