With the success of Sony’s Eyetoy, Microsoft released its own version of the device a few years back. As Microsoft gears up to promote its second game to makes use of the device, the Eyetoy devs at Sony, recently indicated that the technology Microsoft is using for the Xbox Live Vision cam is unreliable.

Regular readers will know I’m a big advocate of hardware price cuts – well, aren’t we all? And there’s one home console that is currently in desperate need of a price cut: the PS3. It’s overpriced and underselling. How many more reasons does Sony need?

LittleBigPlanet is the highest rated first party game this year sitting at 95 on metacritic. However, despite all the rave reviews and perfect scores, sales have been a bit lackluster when compared to other holiday hit titles. According to Sony, the reason why LittleBigPlanet is not selling like hotcakes seems to be mainly the company’s fault.

What makes you buy videogames? I don’t mean overall, but the individual games available for your system of choice. Are reviews all-important? Or does price, series history, or developer notoriety make you reach in your pocket and buy a PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii game?

I have been playing around with the new Netflix feature on the latest Xbox 360’s NXE update. After studying the features and capabilities, I have to say it is quite underwhelming. Many consumers may not realize what the new Netflix feature entails and should be cautious before investing in the service.

The age old debate of which controller is better, the PS3 Dualshock 3 or the Xbox 360 gamepad, has raged on for years. Today, I will take the time to settle all the misconceptions and break down which controller is better for what type of game. I have performed an analysis on shooters, fighters and racers using various games to perform the shake-down test.

The Nintendo Wii has so far been the success story of this generation. It’s sold in the millions, it’s profitable, and it appeals to a wide demographic. But will the bandwagon keep on rolling forever or is the Wii’s time due to come to an end soon?

Sony recently announced a huge milestone with the number of registered Playstation Network users. Sony revealed that currently there are 14 million users registered on the Playstation Network (PSN). Just last month at the Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft also revealed a milestone of 14 million Xbox Live users.

The latest Japanese charts are now out, showing that for the week ending Nov. 16, the Nintendo DSi has smashed all of the competition, selling more on its own than the PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 could manage together. But why are handhelds so popular in Japan?
