New Team ICO & Gears of War info at VGA and PSN Pulse
This past week has been jam packed with video game related news. The Video Game Awards are coming up and some great rumors about Gears of War and Team ICO’s game have been circulating on the Web. We also take a quick look at the PSN’s new show called Pulse.
Pulse is Playstation’s new show hosted by the lovely Christina Lee, which gives you highlights of all the new contents that have been added to the PSN store. Sometimes it can get quite confusing with all the movies and video game contents added onto the PSN store every week. Pulse is not to be confused with Qore, which is a digital magazine on the PS3 produced by Future Publishing.
Gamers can now get a high level glimpse of all the new contents plus the new movies that have been added recently, like The Stepbrothers. Pulse will be released on a bi-weekly basis on the Playstation webpage. Users can also navigate to the show via the PS3 browser.

Now on to the VGAs! According to rumors, Team ICO will be unveiling their mysterious game which has many gamers excited with anticipation. Some have even speculated that the game would be a sequel to Shadow of Colossus or ICO. There has been a great deal of false hope given in the past at E3 and at the Tokyo Game Show with a no show of the highly anticipated game. Hopefully, the rumors turn out to be true.
According to Geoff Keighley of Gametrailers, a new announcement will be made in regards to the future of Gears of War 2. This has many gamers up at attention as the game only dropped several weeks ago. Some have speculated that a new expansion pack could be announced for the game. More than likely a new map pack will be announced for the game.
There are two other announcements that have already been made regarding two well known games: God of War III and Uncharted 2. According to Keighley, he assures fans that actual real-time gameplay footage will be shown for both of these games during the VGAs. Many were dismayed that only a teaser trailer was shown at E3. However, now gamers will get to glimpse how great these games will actually look.
The Video Game Awards will air on Spike TV next Sunday (14th) at 9pm, hosted by Jack Black. Make sure to check it out to catch all the new trailers during the show.

Hopefully GoW 3 will be cool. Not unterested in uncharted.

Still haven’t played RE5 demo. Where is it available?
phyched for all those games. The GOW series is one of my favorites.
On a side note…..Isn’t ICO the sequel to Shadow of the Colossus? or….SOTC the prequel..so to speak.
What I’m getting at is a sequel to SOTC already exists.

Wow… GOW III, Uncharted 2, and Team ICO’s game (The Queen)? Wow. Just wow. I already marked my calendar.
@SW is that out on the 360 market place already? I heard you guys were getting it soon. Is the demo on-line cop-op, or single player, or both? I NEED to stop by my friend’s place to play it, if it is out.

It’s not going to be called ‘the Queen’, that was a mock poster made by members of the Team Ico Eurogamer group.
Also I wonder if Mike’s considered that he’s going to look a wee bit foolish if they don’t show Trico…he doesn’t go into much detail about these ‘rumours’ he supposedly heard, does he…

Panipal2005: Sorry, that was my misunderstanding. I did see the site that they created. I thought that was a reference to the next title. I remember I hearing rumors that it was going to be shown at this year’s Tokyo Game Show… “The Olympic Team” is due for a 2009 release. If they haven’t shown anything about the game yet, I am thinking it may not be ready for a 2009 release.

God of War III, now that is an exclusive… but I don’t think “2009″ is very promising as a release date. As good as an exclusive as this may be, I still don’t think it is worth me plopping down another $400… maybe they will put this on the 360 as well.

Not sure if you are in the states or not (vagely recall hearing Iraq) but my brother and cousin both picked up 80 gig ps3’s when they signed up for a sony style card all for $250. They take 150 off if you buy it in a Sony style store. Btw.. Gow is a Sony owned first part title. It will never be on another console( excluding phones

@pt yep, I’m in Iraq right now, but I heard about the offer on the card… unfortunately it probably won’t still be good by the time I get back, and even if it was, I’d still have to catch up on all the good 360 gaming I missed while I was gone.
Considering I don’t have a gaming computer, the 360 makes up for it. After Fallout 3 (and DLC) and Fable 2, if nothing else has come out I still have Mass Effect, BioShock, Left 4 Dead, Deadspace, GTA IV DLC, Star Ocean, RE5 etc to move through before I consider another console… which even then may be the Wii first. I don’t know, it still a ways off.

Life in the service bro, it’s a gas. DS and PSP right now ain’t bad though. Only a couple more months and I’ll be back, and I’m counting on that price drop to in 2010, without signing to a card with other obligations. Maybe by then I’ll have exhausted the good multi-plats. Doubtful though.
