Resistance 2 is one of my favorite games of 2008 with its stellar online multiplayer mode. The game was highly anticipated and went on to sell over a million copies. There is a new rumor doing the rounds that Resistance 3 may follow in the footsteps of Call of Duty and do a re-imaging of the game to a more modern warfare setting.

What do you know? There are no Wii stories for days and then a handful come along at once. Today sees Nintendo President Satoru Iwata talk about future prospects for the Wii, and speculation of a price cut coming in April. I know it’s only the Wii, but at least try and look excited.

Killzone 2 may be one of the most hyped games ever after Halo 3. The initial reviews are rolling in for Killzone 2, and from the look of things it looks like the game may pull it off. Currently, Killzone 2 has an average rating of 95 on Metacritic. However, the big question is – will it help Sony sell some PS3s?

Along with Metal Gear Solid and Gran Turismo, the Final Fantasy series is the most likely to induce excitement and pant-wetting thrills months in advance of a new game being released. While the former two have remained Playstation exclusives, the forthcoming Final Fantasy XIII is going to be on the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3. That just means double the amount of people who are going to get wet at the sight of a new trailer.

The Playstation 3 is only just over two years old, a mere teenager if the 10-year strategy Sony is committed to pans out. But hardware developers are always planning their next move, which for Sony is likely to be the PS4. The details of the next Sony console are rumored to have leaked, and they make for some interesting reading.

The PS3 and the Xbox 360 has been battling it out in 2008 for the top spot. The results are in and it looks like both systems sold/shipped approximately 10.8 million for the entire year. The reason why both systems were in dead heat for 2008 is mainly due to two factors: better games and price drop.

If you’ve been a gamer for any length of time, you’ve no doubt owned many peripherals which are designed to add to the experience of gaming. And some do, and some are even essential pieces of kit. But there are many peripherals that are utterly pointless, and this group of gaming gristle is one of my (many) pet hates. And the Wii is my number one enemy on this score.

Banjo-Kazooie was one of the greatest platformers on the N64 after the all mighty Mario. The game was also one of the best selling titles on the system as well. However, unlike its predecessor, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts fails to live up to expectations.

For those not aware of the Zero Punctuation reviews, shame on you, and prepare to be blown away by the funniest games reviewer this side of Christendom. This week, Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw reviews Gears of War 2 on the Xbox 360. Fans of the game may want to sharpen their virtual pencils before watching.

It seems like Xbox Live is getting too big for its own good. The small community we used to love and enjoy is attracting all kinds of unwanted people. Child predators reaching out to young boys is one alarming crime that has happened a few times recently.
