YouTube for TV on PS3 wates your time YouTube recently implemented a new feature called “YouTube for Television” which is currently available on the PS3 and Wii. This feature streamlines all of the benefits of YouTube and optimizes it for the TV. As I delved into the new feature on my PS3 I realized how much of a time waster it really was.

Can PS3 Killzone 2 possibly live up to the hype?I’ll start by saying that Killzone 2 looks freaking awesome. Truly. The visuals are stunning and the gameplay looks spot-on. But no game is perfect, and very few games which get hyped the eyeballs end up living up to those impossibly high expectations. Will Killzone 2, a PS3 exclusive, be able to pull it off?

2008 end-of-year sales - Wii kicks butt on all fronts2008 was a magnificent year for gaming. The next-gen finally got going at full speed, with the PS3 and Xbox 360 showing what they are capable of, while the Wii dominated sales charts for the whole twelve months. All in all, the industry seemed to buck the trend shown in other retail sectors by succeeding despite the recession dealing a blow to consumer spending.

December NPD - Wii top, Xbox second, PS3 last - no change thenThe NPD Group has finally released its sales figures for the end of 2008 and they show that the games industry is still in a very healthy state. Despite the recession, sales were up and the individual consoles are saw rises over the holiday period. Unsurprisingly, the Wii finished top of the home consoles, only being beaten by th Nintendo DS overall. The Xbox 360 stayed in second (always the bridesmaid), and the PS3 finished dead last yet again.

This is definitely unacceptable coming from a company known for its stellar RPG franchise. Square Enix is to blame for this mishap, but the blame also falls squarely on Microsoft.

Pachter predicts PS3 price cut as Sony claims it's early days yetThe PS3 has now been on the market for two whole years, and in that time, it seems to have been struggling to hit the huge sales expectations of people expecting the new Sony console to achieve PS2-like sales figures early on. But according to Sony, all is fine as it’s still early days for the console. Meanwhile, Michael Pachter is predicting an April price cut.

However, not too long ago we witnessed several companies going through some turbulent times due to the state of the economy. The final verdict seems to be that the video game industry is smack right in the middle of a recession.

Do violent video games need health warnings on the box?  There I was thinking that politicians had finally got the message that video games aren’t all bad. But it seems this is far from the truth. Why White Knight is selling more PS3s than MGS4 in Japan In the land of the rising sun, the Japanese have gone RPG crazy as the White Knight sells like hot cakes. Folks here in America are scratching their heads as to why this game is selling so well in comparison to other PS3 RPGs like the highly acclaimed Valkyria Chronicles. The truth is a bit more obvious than you may think.
