It seems that Killzone 2 mania has reached fever pitch as the game has been selling quite well just from pre-orders alone. However, after a quick survey around the retail chains, it seems that the game is selling just as well from walk-in purchases. In fact, in some retail channels the game has completely sold out.

The Wii has had an incredible run for the last two years, selling to all and sundry and making Nintendo a boatload of money. In that two-year period, demand has always outstripped supply, with new stocks of the little white console disappearing as soon as they hit store shelves. Could that trend now be ending?

When Fallout 3 came out a few months ago, the game made waves throughout the video game industry. The game also came under scrutiny for the realistic simulation of drug addiction which was a touchy subject in the land down under. However, arguably the realism in Fallout 3 is what could make it one of the best RPGs out there.

Killzone 2 is now out there on the streets, although I’m not playing it for the reasons outlined previously. It is regarded, by many, as the best-looking game ever to have been released, be it on PS3, any other console, or even the PC. But is this the best the PS3 can do? Or is there more to come in the years ahead?

Even though today was a slow day for news, there were some interesting tid-bits that came out. As it turns out PS3 owners can now play Starcraft on the blackbox. Also, eager Killzone 2 fans will now be able to pick up the game at midnight. The mysterious Xbox 360 exclusive game, Ninja Blade has been announced to be coming out soon.

There is another rampant rumor running amok indicating that the PS3 will receive a price cut sometime soon. The rumors point towards sometime in April or June of this year. However, all signs seem to indicate that the PS3 in fact will not receive the speculated price cut anytime soon.

While we may disagree over certain aspects of the PS3, its marketing, how well it’s doing, and the quality of its games, the vast majority of us agree that it’s currently too expensive. There have long been rumors that Sony is going to capitulate and reduce the price, but it hasn’t yet happened. Could the latest speculation indicating a price is imminent prove more accurate?

Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw is back again with another Zero Punctuation review. This week he tackles F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, which was released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in January, 2009. Not only does he berate the game for its complete lack of innovation, he then rants about the plethora of sequels and how they usually aren’t much cop.

Killzone 2 is a game that has been hyped since day one at E3 where it was first revealed. The game turned heads when the target trailer was first shown with jaw dropping graphics. Sony ended up receiving some flak after it was revealed that the trailer was a target render. However, the question still remains – was Guerrilla Games able to hit the bar set by the target render?
