Starcraft on PS3, get Killzone 2 at midnight and Ninja Blade coming soon
Even though today was a slow day for news, there were some interesting tid-bits that came out. As it turns out PS3 owners can now play Starcraft on the blackbox. Also, eager Killzone 2 fans will now be able to pick up the game at midnight. The mysterious Xbox 360 exclusive game, Ninja Blade has been announced to be coming out soon.
Killzone 2 Midnight Launch
Today, I received an automated call from Gamestop letting me know that Killzone 2 will be ready for pickup at midnight. I didn’t know Gamestop would be doing a midnight launch for the game and was pleasantly surprised. I probably enjoy the festive act of standing out in the cold waiting to buy a game more then actually purchasing it during the wee hours.
I remember standing outside for only two other games in recent years: Halo 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4. Despite the fact that I already have a press copy in my hands, I was still tempted to go out to participate in the midnight festivities. However, with a massive .NET C# application sitting on my development IDE laptop ready to be debugged for work, my better judgment kicked in.
Even though I get review copies of games, I still like to go out and purchase the games I enjoy to help support the developers. With duplicate copies of games, I suppose it might not be such a bad idea to give away games to some of our loyal readers.
Ninja Blade coming soon
Ninja Blade is the mysterious Xbox 360 exclusive game coming out in April. The game’s story is centers around a virus that turns people into zombies. The story sounds very familiar but the premise is a bit unique as it meshes the zombie genre with Ninja Gaiden style action. It does sound a bit weird but I embrace all things with an open mind.
The action and combat seems slick and the game does look fun to play. Xbox 360 owners will be able to get a taste of the game developed by FromSoftware March 9 on Xbox Live.
Starcraft on PS3
Starcraft is still considered to be the best RTS to ever grace the computer. DoTA fans may cry blasphemy, but you really can’t even compare the two. Starcraft is actually still used today in professional competition similar to Street Fighter II.
According to Joystiq, a gamer was able to run Starcraft on their PS3 via Windows emulation on top of Linux. Gamers have been nudging away at the PS3 graphics card on the PS3 to use it for PC games. However, despite the numerous requests, Sony has declined to fully open up the libraries to access the video card to run high demanding games. I’m sure one day Sony will see the light.
It seems like March and April may be the new holiday with a huge lineup of games coming out on both the Xbox 360 and PS3. Also, after putting in about 100 hours into Fallout 3, I feel satisfied enough to put up my review of the game soon. Make sure to keep an eye out for more news regarding Fallout 3.

Mike and Dave.
I’m surprised at you. The 360 beat the PS3 and the Wii this week in Japan and you post nothing about it. Think of all the fanboy fuss it’ll create. You missing out on a great many hits.

I couldn’t make the mid-night launch for KZ2. I’m running out my lunch today to pick it up.
I’d like to know more about Ninja Blade. Sounds like it might be cool, but I haven’t seen enough about it yet. Also Demon’s Souls (also from FromSoftware) is another game that could be really cool, but I just haven’t seen or heard enough about it yet.

Demon Souls look awesome. It also isn’t doing as well om Japan as it should be doing. Western type game from an Eastern developer. Demons Souls also is already translated in English, so it shouldn’t be long until be see it here.

“Also, after putting in about 100 hours into Fallout 3…” Does it track how many hours you out into the game? I didn’t notice if it did. That’s one of the only games I’ve played recently where I actually loose track of time. Yesterday I put in over four and half hours straight… I was amazed when I looked at the clock and realized how much time had pasted in the real world.

There! Now we are past the boarder of the poll.

I’m psyched. I can’t wait to get home and play it. Were there a lot of people there at the mid-night launch?

KZ is out today huh. Still undecided on whether to get it.
Any multiplayer console game I buy only gets like 20 minutes of play time… Still have a ways to go before they catch up with PC.
