Killzone 2, one of the most anticipated titles of this year seems to be getting quite the attention. The game is picking up even more steam as the days count down to its launch next week. with two gigabytes worth of textures per level, there is little doubt that the game truly is a technical marvel. But the question still remains – can the game deliver?

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that each of the three current-gen home consoles appeals to different sets of people. The Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 are all very different propositions, and the age and gender mix that play them varies greatly. And now, those user patterns have been mapped to give a clear picture of the different consoles’ diverse user bases.

For about a month now, rumors of a special edition Xbox 360 have been circulating around the Web. The new Xbox 360 was rumored to come in a special bundle with Resident Evil 5. However, it seems that there really is a special edition Xbox 360 as Microsoft inadvertently confirms it.

October saw Nintendo launch its newest foray into the handheld console market – the Nintendo DSi. Six months after launching in Japan, the DSi is coming to the States, with an April 5 release date now confirmed. Will the DSi be yet another hit for the company or is it all a bit pointless?

Ben “Yahtzee†Croshaw is back again with another Zero Punctuation review. This week he tackles Skate 2, which was released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in January, 2009. We see him struggle with the learning curve and complexity of the game – he clearly isn’t a skater in real life.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of, if not the, finest video games on the PS3. In fact, many would argue it’s the best game ever made, it did, after all, top our list of the 100 best video games of all time. And it’s now set to be released as part of the budget Platinum range, meaning there really is no excuse not to buy it.

Its two weeks before the launch of what could be one of the most anticipated games on the PS3 and there are no ads in sight in the States. Although it is a different matter over in Europe with a reported $2.8 million in advertisement budget and TV spots out already. It seems that Sony may not have learned its lesson regarding improving its marketing strategy.

Grand Theft Auto IV remains one of the best next-gen games available to buy. Most people who bought it last summer loved it to bits, although some tired of the repetitiveness of the missions towards the end. Enter GTA IV: The Lost and Damned, the first of two new episodes set in the same world and available exclusively on the Xbox 360.

The sales figures for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US have been volatile in 2008. The year started off strong for the PS3, outselling the Xbox 360 from January to the beginning of September in the US. However, the Xbox 360 kicked into overdrive starting mid September throughout the end of the year. However, early indications seem to suggest that both consoles may be switching positions this year.

The most obvious result of the Wii leading this generation is Nintendo making oodles of money. But there’s another, less welcome, result: parodies. The Wii has been parodied on so many occasions, and even Saturday Night Live has got in on the act, and they dragged Alec Baldwin down with them.
