Alongside the Halo franchise, Gears of War and Gears of War 2 are the games most closely associated with the Xbox brand. But that would clearly change if the franchise was to go multi-format in the future. Comments from the series writer suggests it is at least possible. And if not, why not?

Gears of War has been praised for its graphical powers throughout the industry for some time now. It may not come as a surprise, but the lead developer of Killzone 2 is cut from the very same cloth as the lead designer of Gears of War.

With the skyrocketing development costs, the good old days of third party exclusives is coming to a end. However, Microsoft has waged a new war revolving around exclusive DLCs.
