There is an interesting rumor circulating the Web today indicating that Microsoft may be planning on discontinuing one of the Xbox 360 models. This rumor actually sounds plausible as there are many reasons why Microsoft should cancel one of the three available models out there. The most plausible reason why Microsoft could be discontinuing one of the models is to combat the PS3 this year.

The original trilogy of Halo games is as good a series of games as there has ever been, possibly even rivaling the Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid franchises. But the recently released Halo Wars and forthcoming Halo 3: ODST could signal an over-reliance on Halo‘s good name on the part of Microsoft.

One of the hottest topics on the Web these days seem to be around the fact that the Xbox 360 won’t be getting the massive 800MB Titan Pack for Unreal Tournament III. Some gamers have blamed EPIC Games for the lack of support for the Xbox 360. However, could the blame lie with the Microsoft for limiting the download size?

Ninja Blade is the Xbox 360 exclusive title coming out early next month. The game has been described to be similar to that of Ninja Gaiden with a few twists. Apparently the similarity between the two games ends where the quick-time events start. The question stands – will reliance on quick-time events ruin a promising game?

The last week has been all about Killzone 2. PS3 owners have either been playing it or eying it enviously, while Xbox 360 owners have been bitching from the sidelines while secretly wishing the game had come to their console. But the fuss will soon die down, and we’ll look forward to the next big release, of which, there’s none bigger than God of War III.

Street Fighter II is considered to be the game that put fighters on the map. This game paved the way for the fighter genre to move from the arcade to the home consoles. Street Fighter II is considered to be a classic in many gamer’s eyes. Can Street Fighter IV raise the bar once again as the definitive fighter of this generation?

Street Fighter IV is the latest iteration to the highly acclaimed series. Due to the nature of the genre, one of the most important factors in playing the game is the controls. Killzone 2 is good, very good. It’s not perfect, as a lot of the commenters on GAMER have picked up on, but the majority of reviewers, including our very own Mike Ferro, think it’s very close to being so. The question is, has it raised the bar for games, not just on the PS3, but every console and even the PC?

Microsoft has been known to be a bit heavy handed when it comes to snatching up exclusives. The company reportedly paid $50 million for Xbox 360 exclusive GTA IV DLC, which was recently released on Xbox Live. Also, Microsoft has been known to have deals with other studios in the past for exclusive games as well. However, with the state of the video game industry, it has been more difficult for Microsoft to buy their way to victory.
