2010 to be the year of the Xbox 360
Microsoft has been receiving criticism for the Xbox 360’s seemingly lackluster lineup for 2009. It is almost the half point in the year and very little has been revealed for 2009. However, what gamers may not realize is that Microsoft is building up an arsenal of games for 2010.
Many gamers were expecting a ton of announcements at GDC outlining the lineup all the way up to Christmas. However, the camp over at Microsoft remained silent during the conference. Ideally GDC is a great place for companies to announce games to keep the public at bay during the dry spell which happens mid-year.
We all know that the next big Xbox 360 game coming out will be in September. Of course I am talking about the standalone expansion to one of the biggest games of 2007, Halo 3: ODST. This is one of the games I am looking forward to near the end of the year. Besides that there really isn’t much on the plate this year for the Xbox 360.
However, I have to say that 2010 is starting to look like a killer year for the Xbox 360. There is Mass Effect 2 and Lost Planet 2 already confirmed for 2010. Also, Rare and Lionhead Studios have hinted at a new game currently in the works as well.
The game I am looking forward to next year is Mass Effect 2. I have my game save locked away in my Xbox 360, with at least 100 hours logged to it. With Bioware teasing gamers to hold on to their old game saves, many of those who purchased the original will definitely pick up the sequel. Clearly, the Xbox 360 has a huge jump on the PS3 regarding its game lineup for 2010.

I highly doubt Lost Planet 2 will be a 360 exclusive. Timed exclusive is probably the best MS can hope for.
I’m much rather looking forward to playing FF13vs, Twisted Metal, Warhawk 2, and God of War 3.

2010 is indeed going to be a big year for the Xbox.
The timing is unknown but either at the end of this year (Q4 2009) or early next (Q1 2010) the SoC Valhalla version launches.
This will see the CPU & GPU combined on one very cheap (read profitable), very cool running and energy efficient 45nm chip.
It could well launch as a ’slim’ Xbox 360.
I have no doubt they’ll be making a big deal of it.

WoW, really? THIS is THE news for the 360? The 360 has a “HUGE” jump on the PS3 for 2010? I don’t think so, if anything PS3 will have equal to or better than a lineup:

those two alone counter Halo and Mass Effect 2.
Also Lost Planet still might make it to the PS3, not sure about Mass Effect 2, BUT its not entirely an 360 exclusive, as i can get that on the PC side of things.
Anywhoo, its ok to say that 360 will have a great 2010 lineup, but to state this:

Heh, yeah Harry, both Sony and MS reps love saying crap like that. But there’s a reason everyone still points to “older” games like MGS4 and Gears2 as the pinnacle of console graphics. It’s simply not easy to make games look THAT good.

*NOTE: What i mean by this, if you couldn’t understand it, is in order to run Crysis, you need a pretty high-end computer system, which im luckily able to have, $800 dollars is minimum mark if you build the computer yourself, as i have. Mine computer came out about $1500 bucks, but thats because i bought Vista64/30″Monitor..

The release of a new slim 360, perhaps with some hardware upgrades (a la 360.5) could be a fantastic stop gap measure to keep up with the PS3, with perhaps more faster ram/vram, faster cpu etc. Just a slim, black model with hardware that is reliable would be awesome. I personally believe that we will see .5 type upgrades before we see the next brand new gen of consoles, which would make economic sense as well as keep us hardcores happy.
2010 could be a great year to own a 360, and considering the lineup that the ps3 has coming in the next 12 months, it will have to be.
Hell, done right with PS3 like reliability, a new 360 could convince me to add a second console. I have been intrigued by some 360 titles (the ones i couldn’t get for my PC anyhow) but I refuse to reward MS with a purchase of a machine that has failed 1/3 of the time. I am a gamer before a loyalist, and a good system with good games deserves support.

The PlayStation 3 has better games is a fact plus online is free and way better too. Halo and Gears of War are so dated and over hype is just embarrassing, Microsoft doesn’t even bother making games they just try to buy timed exclusive or DLC lame. While Sony buys developers and brings out new original IP which every time are hits. Also Blu-ray ray is a must for games and movies all PS3 have HDMI and Wi-Fi free unlike Xbox 360 which needs you to pay $100 for that junk. Also all PS3 controller bring built in Lithium battery way better than that AA crap from Microsoft. Plus Xbox 360 is not reliable what so ever i got the E74 already plus the Red Ring of Death is huge. Xbox 360 is so dated and behind is unreal. PlayStation Network has awesome full games unlike Xbox Arcade that’s just full of rip off. Thew new Xbox update makes the Xbox 360 confusing and clutter plus it looks horrible, the Dashboard sucks but is better than NXE. Microsoft doesn’t even include a web browser like Sony and they have Internet Explorer which also is horrible but is better than nothing oh and i use Firefox. The PS3 cannot be hack unlike the Xbox 360 which is hack already making game developers and publishers lose millions of dollars i have my junk flashed. And the PS3 can read more audio and video codec than the Xbox 360. The PS3 has the ability to become a Linux PC which is a must since windows is a mess. Also Microsoft forces you to buy their expensive hard drive $100 60gb $150 120gb. PS3 can get up to 500gb laptop hard drive, for less $70 bucks you can get over 320gb. Plus with the PSP you can connect remotely to your PS3 and listen to music or watch movies and many other things. The PS3 is very reliable and looks way better than Xbox 360 the shiny Piano black like PSP makes the PS3 looks stylish and beautiful. $400 or even $500 is nothing comparing with what your getting a Blu-ray player highly needed a gaming console with basically infinite power web browser printer support a PC OS for business a game and video store PS1 and PS2 games backwards compatibility depending the model you got i got 2 PS3 both backwards compatible with ps2. The Xbox is know for bad awful quality and terrible unreliable tech support and just 2 games come on that’s not good for anyone. Sony also has the best camera they were the first to come with a gaming console camera started with PS2 EyeToy which is compatible with PS3. Go buy a PS3 or at least try a couple games and you will be hook on it for years PS3 is a true next gen console with awesome exclsuive games. 2009 is basically empty for Xbox 360 owners while PS3 is full every year. I suggest you buy a PS3 now and forget about Xbox 360 which freezes a million time for no reason.

DWH, Fat Princess has been on my list since I first heard of it.
Have you guys scene that the Japaneses PS store just got FF VII? I’ll seriously be pissed if we don’t get it. Hopefully they’ll release it along side of the Bluray of Advent Children like they did there.
Again, I think M$ would be better serving it’s fans with first party studios. I guess it’s a bonus that the 360 gets these games first, but they all inevitably come to PS3 and usually with bonus content to make up for the wait (BioShock, Ninja Gaiden 2, Tales of Vesperia, etc, etc).

I’ve seen leaked artwork for Forza 3, but that’s about it. We’ll probably hear about it at E3.

For a “last place” console, I’m getting a hell of a lot of enjoyment from it. Just as much as my pc, a little more than our 360 and a crap load more than our wii.

M$ only pays money for exclusive DLC & timed exclusives. There practically as bad as the Wii with providing quality exclusive titles. The difference is Nintendo doesn’t care about telling it’s fans they aren’t getting anything. M$ on the other hand creates the illusion that there fans are getting worth while games.

That’s all that had to be said, why point out what palce a console is in, it just makes you look like a fanboy too. Yes there are people that should care about console numbers. Btw… Tactics is good, but frustratingly hard at times. I enjoy the game play and what I’ve got of the story so far.
The guest AI, and the fact that you can not bring guests into random encounters to gain levels, is driving me crazy.
