The handheld games market is suddenly looking a lot more interesting, possibly more so than it has since the days of the Sega Game Gear and, hmm, the Atari Lynx. Rumors surrounding the next iteration of the PSP have been flying around for some time but now the Sony console looks set to become reality.

Resident Evil 5 is Capcom’s crowning jewel this year with the game selling extremely well on both the PS3 and Xbox 360. However, a controversy that has arisen from the game is the announcement of the Versus DLC. Many gamers have harshly criticized Capcom for making them pay for the online component of the game.

It was surely only a matter of time before the incredible sales enjoyed by the Wii started to slump. And that has now started to happen, at least in Japan. This downturn for the Nintendo console has coincided with an increase in demand of the PS3, while the Xbox 360 continues to just simmer in its own pot of mediocrity.

Lux-Pain is a glimmer of what the future of interactive storytelling could be. The game is more like an interactive novel than an actual action game. However, the twists and turns in the story may leave you dizzy but satisfied in a bizarre way.

Recently Sony released the latest firmware in a long series of iterative updates. The firmware added one feature that is really worth talking about – cross game text chat. This feature is so revolutionary gamers across the globe have jumped for glee as the PSN is now more robust than Xbox Live.

Recently Sony dropped the bomb that the rumored price drop will finally happen for the PS2. This rumor has been in circulation for about a year now since last E3. With a price drop, will the budget system be able to eat away at the Wii’s sales?

DLC (downloadable content) has the capacity to turn a game from an also-ran into a contender. Which is most certainly the case with Unreal Tournament 3 and the free Titan Pack update. Unfortunately for those of us resident in Europe, obtaining that blasted DLC has been somewhat of a chore.

The producer of Final Fantasy XIII recently stated that the game will utilize almost 100 percent of the power of the PS3. This statement has gotten a few sites questioning the quality of the Xbox 360 version. Most likely it won’t be the quality that suffers but the convenience factor.
