Rumor: Splinter Cell: Conviction to be revolutionary
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction has had a long history much like Too Human. The game has been in development for quite some time with very little shown. However, according to rumors, the game is finally set to release during Christmas 2009.
Splinter Cell: Conviction is viewed as a one-off from the series and takes a complete departure from the normal military-esque theme to street brawling action. The game centers around Sam Fisher, who is haggard and weathered from hiding for a very long time, very much like Jason Borne. However, Fisher has to come out of hiding to protect the ones that he cares about.
The game has been estimated to have been in development for about five years. Ubisoft announced back in late 2006 and early 2007, that Splinter Cell: Conviction would be released in time for Christmas 2007 exclusively for the Xbox 360. However, nearly over two years later the game has yet to release. For a launch delay, Conviction is gearing up to break some records if it does not release by this year’s end.

I highly suspect that the developers of the series were not satisfied with the quality of the game in 2007 and decided to work on it till the team felt it was done. The game may have gone through a complete overhaul from the 2007 version. However, the rumblings throughout the industry have many journalists excited with anticipation as the game is said to be revolutionary for the series.
Andy McNamara, editor in chief of Game Informer stated on Gametrailers that even he heard that the game is suppose to “blow doors.” However, Microsoft is keeping journalists at bay by not revealing much about the game. The main question on my mind is if Splinter Cell: Conviction will suffer the same fate as Haze, or if it will be able to deliver the goods? Make sure to stay tuned for more information from E3 about this mysteriously titillating game.

So we can expect articles on every game someone saying ‘is going to awesome1111onone!’ now?

You did catch what he did with Haze and Too Human, right SW? He only brings his A game for the Microsoft exclusives.

I wonder if Fisher comes out of hiding to protect Alan Wake

Alan Wake is better at hiding.

Like I’ve said before, I loved this series up until the last entry. Double Agent was really really BAD.
After playing the last one, I could see this being a Haze or Too Human. Hopefully they got there shit together, but we’ll have to wait and see I guess.

I’m always scared when developers try revolutionize the game from the rest of the series.
Sometimes it works (resident evil 4)
and sometimes not (tomb raider:angel of darkness)

That means is gonna suck like all Splinter Cell have. I already got Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots so i don’t need this so called REVOLUTIONARY myth. This game is gonna be mediocre trust me i know. Plus it might just go to PC PS3 Xbox 360. Microsoft is dead they have nothing.

darkwhitehair:
Is 10 But a 9.2 ain’t bad either. IGN has a gaming team for everything console i don’t think they bias much. The only bad thing about IGN is that almost every multiplaform game they play it on Xbox 360 only which is %100 Xbox 360 bias…Tom Clancy’s games are all over rated crap.

I was wondering why this isn’t coming out on PS3, and the reason seems to be because it’s “a testament to the ability of the powerful next-gen game console to deliver experiences no other console can match.”
It just doesn’t seem like the kind of game MS would pay to have exclusive, and Ubi like to spread their games across all platforms.
Anyway, did anyone see that other supposed Ubi game leak in Beyond Good & Evil 2? That looked amazing if it was real…Ancel has apparently said that they are currently only on one next gen system.
That better be the PS3….

“According to the Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, Beyond Good & Evil 2 will be made more appealing to casual gamers than the original game”
Bleh. So much for cool ‘real’ looking piggy…

@Lockdown: No I missed it, but I’m glad you mentioned it. If that’s real…. holy crap! I missed the first one, but I would check this out in a heart beat.

@DWH: Thanks for that tip also! It’s great to see it was rated so high. I’ll be picking it up as soon as I finish VC.
