Top 40 best Xbox 360 games – The best Xbox 360 exclusives
The Xbox 360 currently has one of the largest libraries of this generation due to the fact Microsoft was able to get the console out one year before Nintendo and Sony. Even though there is a plethora of multiplatform games out there, the exclusives are what differentiate one console from another.
Several weeks ago we put up a Top 40 Playstation 3 Exclusive Games list and as promised we are bringing you a list of Top 40 Xbox 360 Exclusive games. The ranking of the games listed are put together here by the Blorge staff and reflects the diverse exclusive lineup on the Xbox 360.

All I can say is… these exclusives are SHIT compared to the top 40 ps3 list.
And I own both (360 and ps3, but not wii cuz its shit), I just seem to have ALOT more ps3 games.
Gears of war kicks ass, Fable is awsome, Gran turismo owns Forza, Halo is all hype.
August 2nd, 2009
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II is definitely an add-on to this list. This game is one of the first quality examples this gen of a fine transition to home consoles of PC RTS games.
August 2nd, 2009
Most of those games suck and didn’t sell shit. I know the reason for this post is to show some interest on the Xbots family we all know Sony runs this.
August 2nd, 2009
the only reason i was considering a 360 was gears of war but now that ps3 is getting quantum, i think ill delay a little longer
i did like forza and fable on the xbox
never got to play forza 2 and fable 2 but i assume they’re good
August 2nd, 2009
“Most of those games suck and didn’t sell shit.”
Ah yes, considering the XBox has several more favorably reviewed games, the same can be said for PS3, even more so. Funny. 360 still pwns PS3 this gen between the two (Wii in a league of its own), and both consoles are still worth owning.
Mirror image: The PS3 post must have been “to show some interest on the PiS3bots family, everybody knows Microsoft runs this”.
Bottom line: Enjoy the console(s) you own, respect the others for what they bring to the table.
Fable 2 kicks ass, no doubt. Tales of Vesperia rocks. Still no release date on PS3, but I’m sure it will get it, eventually.
August 2nd, 2009
Fable 2 was a hoot! I still have fond memories of dancing on a guy’s grave and playing fetch with my dog in the middle of his funeral. Fun times.
August 2nd, 2009
Braid is no longer a 360 exclusive. It’s coming to PSN.
August 2nd, 2009
I never played fable. It was one of the casualties of the Christmas overload of games. I adore Mass Effect and Fallout. Is it anything like those?
August 2nd, 2009
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
One of my favs.
Serious eye candy (always strikes me as weird how its never mentioned in any discussion of thee best ‘lookers’ on any console) and planes and shooting.
What more do you need?
August 2nd, 2009
oh if I had the time I would add more but maybe Tuesday I’ll come back to this post but I wanted to mention Gun. I never played it but I hear it’s a great game. Even Metacritic has it ranked pretty high. Call of warez (I’m sure I spelled it wrong) is also a game I tried and enjoyed.
August 2nd, 2009
oh I forgot to mention the dish washer. That is a bad ass game.
August 2nd, 2009
This why the PS3 has outsold the 360 ever since it came out.
Point 1: The Xbox 360 had a one-year head-start and on top of which, there was zero competition for that one year. It was the only “next-gen” console available.
Point 2: The PS3 launched at a ridiculous $600 price point and remains the most expensive console out there. It’s still the most expensive console and yet, in a freakin’ recession, it has managed to keep pace with the 360.
Point 3: The PS3 kept pace with the 360 before the vast majority of the popular exclusives arrive; we haven’t yet seen God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, MAG, The Last Guardian, and others; it has really only been MGS4 and Killzone 2 that have contributed heavily thus far.
Point 4: The PS3 kept pace with the 360 during a time when developers had yet to really grasp the complexity of the PS3’s hardware, and multiplatform games were often inferior on Sony’s machine.
Point 5: The PS3 kept pace with the 360 during a time when the PlayStation Network essentially started from nothing and had to build to catch Xbox Live. In 2007, the two services weren’t even comparable on any level.
Point 6: Most 360 owner would eventually want something new. Some of them would migrate to the PS3 which will increase PS3 sales.
Point 7: There are those (Wii owners, X360 owner , PS2 owner) who are just waiting for that Price drop. And the Price Cut is right around the courner.
Now that we’ve established these points, let’s remind you further: In 32 months, the PS3 has sold about 24.6 million units while the Xbox 360 sold about 30.2 million units in 44 months. Mathematically speaking, the PS3 has been the faster selling console. Granted, it may not be up to “Sony standards” after the domination of the PS2, but considering all the preceding factors, how can anyone whine about the sales figures? Furthermore, consider the future:
The PS3 will invariably fall in price. The Network has finally reached Live in my eyes (and in terms of certain exclusive downloadable software, has surpassed it, IMO). The recession should lessen pressure and this lessened pressure will coincide with the aforementioned price cut. The exclusives just about every avid gamer wants are coming for the PS3; not so much for the 360. Developers have long since come to terms with the PS3; many say its potential remains mostly untapped and multiplatform titles are now basically identical all the time. You could bring up the competing motion sensing technologies, but nobody has any idea how either will fare right now. …am I the only one that is willing to use logic and common sense when analyzing the sales figures?
P.S. Any 360 fans who want to toss up that sorry list of exclusives as if it has any shot of competing with the list for the PS3; don’t bother. It’ll just waste our time.
August 2nd, 2009
Good points roca, and I agree PS3 will see sales increase as price drops in the future. Heck, they may even surpass 360 in 2015 as Pachter said.
Point 1: The 360 needed the head start to gain momentum, and Microsoft has managed to turn the tables on Sony by taking a good portion of their market share (compared to last gen).
Point 2: “keeping pace” would be catching up, regardless of the competition’s head start. If all the consoles keep the pace they have so far, Sony will not catch up by the end of this gen.
Point 3: I would say there is a good chance most consumers who have not purchased a PS3 either do not know or do not care enough about “MAG, The Last Guardian, and others”, as even MGS4 and KZ2 haven’t raised sales significantly in the past either. God of War 3 and GT5 are probably the most compelling for PS2 owners that haven’t purchased a PS3, but there again, will they act the same as MGS4 did?
Point 4: Those multiplatform games that are being ported badly to the PS3 to this day (like Ghostbusters) are not a good sign to the consumer yet to make a purchase.
Point 5: Is PSN going to be a console driver when a good chunk of those who have yet to purchase a PS3 aren’t even going to hook it up to the internet? Free is definitely a selling point, but XBL Silver is also free, and Gold can be purchased for a small amount as needed, if needed at all.
“Point 6: Most 360 owner would eventually want something new. Some of them would migrate to the PS3 which will increase PS3 sales.”
The same can be said for PS3 and Wii owners migrating to 360. Except it will be even easier for them as it is the least expensive console to purchase at this time. Being one of those 360 owners who was planning on purchasing a PS3 in the near future, I find myself strapped for time for everything on the 360, and have no real time for yet another console beyond this, PS2, PSP, DS, and iPhone. If you own either a PS3 or 360, there is a fairly good chance the Wii may be your next, as it is the next least expensive console (compared to 360 being the least expensive to start playing over 600 games out of the box) and has the most unique (and popular, albeit not with the “hardcore” perhaps) experience in the bulk of it’s library when compared to the other two.
“Point 7: There are those (Wii owners, X360 owner , PS2 owner) who are just waiting for that Price drop. And the Price Cut is right around the courner.”
360 and Wii would follow with price cuts of their own. The same can be said in favor of either console.
The PS3’s strongest point as a game console are it’s exclusives, but by the time it reaches ten truly compelling and unique AAA exclusives (like say perhaps God of War 3 level) to entice recession consumers to spend more, the other consoles will have already gained their own momentum and increased the amount of their own exclusives, all at a significantly lower price.
Bottom line: a second console (no matter which you got first) is a luxury that most people cannot afford in their time schedules (let alone money) during a recession; all three of the major home consoles will do fine for the rest of this gen.
August 2nd, 2009
@CAD, Gun was definitely one of my favorites as well. I heard the other versions didn’t turn out so well, which kind of gave it an unfair rep. Fortunately the 360 version was very good, and I especially liked the way it incorporated the different vista’s, weapons, mini-games, and even shooting. It was kind of like a western movie, rpg, platformer, and shooter all mixed into one.
@CON, Fable II is quite a bit different from Mass Effect and Fallout in that it is not as complex or long. The most unique thing about it was the options you had in the game, and the effects it would have later, which were many times more plain (and fun) to see than in the above two mentioned games (which are also great).
One of my friends was telling me the other day that he had heard a mother complaining to the clerk at the gamestore that she wanted her money back because her son had married and had children with a prostitute in the game. The clerk responded by saying at least he did the right thing and hadn’t killed her yet.

Unfortunately for Roca and his latest novel the fact is that whilst PS3 has had a blip of decent sales in the first 2 Q’s of 08 it has seen sales fall year on year between then and now.
PS3 is in fact not catching up at all, it is falling behind further and further right now.
August 2nd, 2009
(and Sony Corp. CEO Nobuyuki Oneda’s tales of 70% PS3 cost reductions will be making a price-cut likely soon are going to do nothing for future PS3 sales either)
August 2nd, 2009
@IVAN ROCA
LMAO. I read that post in another website 3 weeks ago!
Troll much???
August 2nd, 2009
Not a fan of Halo.
August 2nd, 2009
Damn I’ll just be glad when “God of War 3″ get’s here!
August 2nd, 2009
God of War will be a great game but won’t make any difference to console sales. I have no doubt that the type of gamer who would play this will already have a ps3.
I always thought MGS4 and Killzone 2 would have been the killer sellers but obviously not
August 2nd, 2009
Oh and according to the latest reports Sony have sold 23.8 million PS3s to date, not 24.6 million (so there’s the guts of another million you’re out there Ivan/Roca).
You can find the info in the Sony quarterly reports here – w.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/financial/fr/09q1_sony.pdf
(this details how many were sold at the time of this report and compares it to last year, it’s on page 4)
From these quarterly financial reports we can see (as several Playstation gaming sites are reporting) that Sony have sold 23.8 million PS3s as of the info that was released and published on 1st Aug 2009.
w.pushsquare.com/5003/playstation-3-has-sold-238-million-systems-to-date-1897-million-bits-of-software-sold/
Once again Ivan/Roca posts an outright lie to make his claims look better.
BTW Ivan/Roca, now that I’ve just proved (with Sony’s own numbers) that you just lost that million where does that leave your BS about how PS3 closed up by 1 million, huh?
Once again, thanks for playing and providing us with some light relief and amusement.
Better luck next time.
August 2nd, 2009
Quick IVAN ROCA time to log in as your other alias names to shout happy down.
August 2nd, 2009
Or maybe make up a new one and have all three of you gang up on happy!
This discussion thread started really well until some douchebag came here and started spouting his nonsense again.
August 2nd, 2009
These top games are sweet, and go well with the top Netflix shows to boot: Between bouts of Tales of Vesperia, I’m now relishing The Legend of the Seeker streaming HD for a fraction of the price it would be to rent discs/download/buy retail. NICE.
August 2nd, 2009
@Ivan_PSP “Most of those games suck and didn’t sell shit” you’re a fucking tool if you actually believe that.
@CAD Call of Juarez is out on the PS3 and PC, so it can’t be considered an X360 exclusive, which if my excellent reading abilities tell me this is what the article is about.
August 2nd, 2009
For Sony we have top 3000 games from 1995-Present.
August 2nd, 2009
Yeah, I guess that when you get the boom dropped on you so badly then all that’s left is to ignore it as best as you can and start d!cking around talking a different language.
Usted pequeño tonto aburrido ridículo.

Happyhockum:
LoL i did that for no reason no lie. Glad to see you know Spanish i think. All i wrote is %100 true/verda…
August 3rd, 2009
Ivan, the rule still applies even though you use a different language. Fan pro console and anti console language alone with no valid points and no balance whatsoever is just going to reflect a lack of intelligence.
August 3rd, 2009
CarlB:
I always have a point and i don’t care about what people post here because is the same people writing to see who can have the best come backs the PS3 crew obviously has this won always.
Team PlayStation We Are The Only True Elite Players, We are The Only True Next Gen Console Owners, We Are gaming… LoL kudos to me.
August 3rd, 2009
HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
August 3rd, 2009
Idiot.
August 3rd, 2009
Jealously hahaha LMFAO… Dumbass.
August 3rd, 2009
Oh jeez…
August 3rd, 2009
@ Ivan :
“Team PlayStation We Are The Only True Elite Players, We are The Only True Next Gen Console Owners, We Are gaming… LoL kudos to me.”
Oh My God!!!!
Ivan isn’t a sony ps4th fanboy. He is an Ivan fanboy. He self loves. I wonder if he has had a rib (or several) removed so he can bend over and get his chippolata d**k in his mouth to blow himself.
Even the true sony ps4th fanboys cringe when he comments (while the rest of us laugh). He is a loose cannon. If i was an army general and he was one of my soldiers, I would be seriously worried about the safety of my platoon.
August 3rd, 2009
haha I heard the bass player from Marilyn Manson had such a surgery to perform such an act on himself.
August 3rd, 2009
wow…a lot of ppl are back in the forum
welcome back Andrew_DS…..i thought by now you would’ve been Andrew_DSi
August 3rd, 2009
Cheers Roca, good to be back. Been off work lately so not been near a computer. And it felt good.
I thought about changing my name to Andrew_DSi but to be honest I am sick of upgrading.
August 3rd, 2009
lol..yeah i hear you upgrading sucks.
I passed on the DSi and the PSP-3000. My DS and my 2000 are doing just Fine.
August 3rd, 2009
Lips
Frontlines: fuel of War
Too Human
Warhammer: Battle March
Guilty Gear 2: Overture
Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad
Ninja Blade
Kameo: Elements of Power
Bomberman Live
wow really?
August 3rd, 2009
Actually Castle Crashers, Braid, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Star Ocean (most likely) need to be deleted from the list.
Also Bikini Samurai Squad, Too Human, and The Last Remnant were all universally panned by fans and critics a like.
Guilty Gears – PSN is getting the sequel exclusively.
Bomberman Live – we have Bomberman Ultra
So… wow. The top 360 exclusive are not very impressive at all are they? If M$ invested in first party studios instead of spending millions to delay PS3 releases, this list could have looked a lot better.
August 3rd, 2009
i’m still waiting for someone to tell us why more exclusives is better. according the ps3 fanboys, sony has the most exclusives yet lags waaaay behind the wii and 360 in sales…
are exclusives an advantage? the math says no….
August 3rd, 2009
ace combat 6 never made it to the ps3? wow..that’s gotta hurt. the AC franchise was born and brought to success on the playstation name…. ouch…
August 3rd, 2009
Funny, Ace Combat 6 has also sold less than the last two Ace Combats… coincidence?
Has AC6 even hit a million units yet? Does anyone know?
-Arvis
August 3rd, 2009
Arvis
Just like helicopter gunship stylee games fell out of favour so too has the air fighter stylee game.
Damned shame, I’d love a decent ’strike’ type game made for this gen.
(check out the AC6 game, it really is a sweet looking game for those who value the eye candy highly)
August 3rd, 2009
Kev – It’s very simple actually… the PS3 is a much better system than the 360 and Wii combined. The only factor that has held back the masses is PRICE. People will settle for the 360 because it is “cheaper” when looking at the price tags in a store.
I don’t own stock in any of the compaines. I just like playing games.
“are exclusives an advantage?” To a gamer -Yes, of coarse they are.
August 3rd, 2009
Or even better a Thunderstrike 3 game.
August 3rd, 2009
Barnabe Jones
Wake up.
People take one look at both systems, check out the features they don’t need on the PS3 and then take one look at the price tag and laugh.
They then opt for the console that looks exactly the same but at so much lower a price.
If they later decide they do need various extras they can add them if they choose.
They probably already also know that the game library is bigger on the Xbox and it has more higher ranked games.
August 3rd, 2009
Hawx wasn’t too bad Happy, but it was kinda dumbed down.
Tbh I would much prefer to be piloting a Atlas Mech. tho
August 3rd, 2009
Cheers SW, I’ll look into it.
August 3rd, 2009
Actually, Happy, I’m pretty sure it has a bit more to do with the last two Ace Combat games being released on the PS2, which his a SLIGHTLY bigger install base than the 360… but, yeah, flight combat may be out of style, too.
But yeah, you’re right, AC6 is a phenomenal game that looks amazing. Can’t wait to see what they can do with AC7…
-Arvis
August 3rd, 2009
Hey, nice to have you back Andrew. (Y)
Now, can someone tell me why is Ivan writing in spanish?
August 3rd, 2009
Barnabe, Too Human and LAst Remnant panned? Have you played either game, or are you just spouting your bullshit once again?
August 3rd, 2009
Arvis
thanks, that was a little pleasant news I’d not heard.
An AC7 huh?
Should be (and look) the absolute dogs danglies.
August 3rd, 2009
“i’m still waiting for someone to tell us why more exclusives is better. according the ps3 fanboys, sony has the most exclusives yet lags waaaay behind the wii and 360 in sales…”
Kev…We just mentioned that the PS3 has sold faster than than the 360 in the same time frame.
you keep looking like an idiot every time you make comments like that. if just look past the U.S. Sales you will see the PS3 and discard the first year sales of the 360 you will see the PS3 has sold better at a higher price and since then it has actually cut down the 360 lead.
August 3rd, 2009
Too Human Sucked aSS
Last Remnant was ok.
The top games are “must own”. from there most of the other titles are a joke.
August 4th, 2009
Harry, No I haven’t played either, but I have read plenty of reviews and feed back from fans.
Fpr example…
MetaCritic:
Too Human – 65
Last Remnant – 66
Bikini Squad – 39!!!!!!!
Happy – I would agree with most of your post except for the last sentience.
August 4th, 2009
Too Human was a hoot. Give it a go before slamming it. I believe the fact that Dyack is a finger pointing retard did not help the game’s score. Some reviews gave it as high as a 90.
Last Remnant is best described as a niche RPG, you’ll either love it or hate it, which is evident in the range of scores it was given (It received as high as 90).
Bikini Squad I am not even going to comment on. Bu tI heard they’re making a movie out of it?? haha
I would suggest to at least take a look at these games first before saying that they suck.
August 4th, 2009
If is for Xbox 360 is gotta suck is common sense.
August 4th, 2009
Speaking of sucking, did I pay you for last night, Ivan?
August 4th, 2009
Your mom was the one sucking my cock last night you have a bad memory fagget.
August 4th, 2009
Oh really? All I remember was unleashing a load in your moustache.
August 4th, 2009
Ah mum jokes, the last resort of someone desperate to find a witty comeback.
August 4th, 2009
harry sachz:
Dind’t you said you were a transsexual home who pray on little kids and animals and got raped by his daddy up his ass why he’s mom got her vagina fuck by the mail man.
Own again
August 4th, 2009
Ivan,
I don’t recall saying that, you’re not bringout out repressed memories by any chance?
Want a hug?
August 4th, 2009
It all becomes clear. Ivan is simple. He must have been starved of oxygen at birth and that explains his 6 year old mentality.
Whats great is how he is so baitable. Harry, you must eagerly await Ivan posting another hilarious reply. He just brightens everybody’s day up.
August 4th, 2009
Andrew_DS:
Looks who’s talking follower. Dude you have life how sad.
harry sachz:
Denial is all you are… We all know the true already.
Let me guess you becoming buddy with Andrew_DS the name ripoff to fuck him wow gotta love that Xbox 360 LMFAO.
August 4th, 2009
Strangely enough I would be interested in the Bikini Squad movie. Hot Asian chicks doing stuff = win in my book.
August 4th, 2009
SW
Just thought I’d say thanks for the heads up.
As you said, it looks like Hawx is a decent game so I’ve been looking out for it for the last couple of days.
Just bought it from the best deal I could find (Zavvi are doing it for £14.95 and I can get Quidco off that too – another 4.5% as cashback).
Result!
August 4th, 2009
Hawx is one of those games that passed me by, same with Ace Combat. Which one is better?
August 5th, 2009
^^ i will say if ur used to ace combat, then you wont like HAWX as much.
August 5th, 2009
I’ve never played HAWX but I find it difficult to believe that it could improve on the Ace Combat system.
-Arvis
August 6th, 2009
HAWX is garbage
August 6th, 2009
So you recommend Ace Combat 6 then Ivan?
August 6th, 2009
All Tom Clancy and Ace Combat suck. Plane games are almost like sport pure garbage as a game. The only good gaming genre is Action/Adventure/Platform/FPS/Third Person Shooter/Some RPG/Some Racing/Some Sport/Some RTS/Some Fighting/Some Puzzle/No Plane Only Game.
August 6th, 2009
You said that sport games were pure garbage, and then you list sport as a good gaming genre? Can you please pass the doobie?
August 6th, 2009
Only fake sport games are good like NFL Street NBA Street SSX The Bigs… Forza lol cheap shot.
August 6th, 2009
