Xbox 360 MW2 vs PS3 Uncharted2 250GB bundle – verdict
There are two gigantic bundles coming out for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. There is the Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 bundle and the PS3 Uncharted 2 bundle and both systems come with a whopping 250GB hard drive. However, for consumers looking to pick up one of the bundles it can be a difficult choice.
The Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 bundle has been highly publicized with full details available for consumption. The bundle is actually quite good as it will come with an extra wireless controller (no rechargeable batteries yet), and the game plus a headset for the price of $399. The Xbox 360 will have a cool Modern Warfare 2 design on the unit as well.
Its important to note that the special edition bundle does not come with the component cables and only comes with the standard edition of Modern Warfare 2, not the hardened edition. Despite the drawbacks, the bundle is still a sweet deal when considering everything you get.
I am curious as to what audience Microsoft wants to target this bundle towards. Is it the casual or hardcore gamer? I assume hardcore gamers will already have an elite like myself and will try to justify or come up with a reason to buy the bundle that comes with a standard edition of Modern Warfare 2. However, on the other hand casual gamers may be intimidated by the $399 price tag.

The PS3 250GB Uncharted 2 bundle has been rumored for the past few weeks. However, Sony has yet to confirm the existence of this bundle. Uncharted 2 may be this year’s most highly acclaimed game with the most amounts of accolades from E3 and Gamescom, but it is not the most anticipated game. I have to defer that to Modern Warfare 2 from an audience perspective.
I believe Uncharted 2 will be a AAA blockbuster game that will sell in the millions, but honestly I do not feel that it is as visible as Modern Warfare 2. However, one thing that Uncharted 2 has going for it is its exclusivity factor. Gamers thinking about picking up a PS3 might be enticed by the Slim and Uncharted 2.
Unfortunately, the Uncharted 2 PS3 bundle may be just a pipe dream as Engadget received confirmation from Sony that the US has no plans for such a bundle, but can’t speak for other regions. The new rumor on the street is that Europe will be the territory to receive an Uncharted 2, Assassin’s Creed II and Gran Turismo 5 bundle this year.
Verdict – Xbox 360 Wins with high value and collector’s edition Elite
Overall I would say from a logical stand point the Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 bundle looks good and many other hardcore gamers will tell you exactly the same despite no plans on purchasing it. Also, since Modern Warfare 2 is not an exclusive game there is very little incentive for non 360 owners to shell out $399 for this bundle. Although, with a unique design on the Xbox 360 this bundle is definitely a special edition unit meant for the most hardcore of the Xbox 360 persuasion. The most hardcore gamers are those who already own an Xbox 360 but willing to burn more money to get the collector’s edition of the console.

Well Modern Warfare 2 is also on PS3 and the UNCHARTED 2 bundle is a rumor for now. UNCHARTED 2 will do better since MW2 is just hype.

Wow i got so many problems that i actually totally forgot about the Tokyo Gaming Show, were Xbox 360 is hated by everyone. I can’t wait to see it, hopefully Sony would stream via PlayStation Home like they did E3.

Gears of War 1 and 2 are both just decent not that huge they both short as hell in story plus online maps are way to damn small plus most people just use shotgun or sniper. The game is more hype then good.

Crap. Reading this now, I just realized that Rocca could have taken the PS3 code and I could have taken the other 360 one. Sorry Rocca, I didn’t realize soon enough.
Brutal Legend was pretty good. I really liked the humor and Jack Black. The Black Sabbath song fit the game pretty well. The combat is simple, but yet fun. All in all, it was enjoyable.

I will be trading in Batman AA toward demon’s souls. It’s been fun, but I’ve gone as high as I am willing to get OCD about on the online scores, and got the platinum. Since they aren’t planning on having any massive DLC for it (with trophies etc) and theres no online, its value on trade in ($48 at EB games aka gamestop here in winnipeg) is too high to hold on to for collection sake, heh.

Damn you both and your Batman combat skills! I’m close to finishing off the Predator challenges, but completing all of the combat challenges seems like it’s impossible for me.
Do either of you know if the DLC trophies will count toward the overall combat and predator challenges?
Also… I’m a bit strapped for cash this year. I’m getting Uncharted 2 from Santa, so I get can myself one game. It’s either Ninja Gaiden 2 or Demon’s Souls… I’m leaning towards NG2, but that might change.

I think you would get more play time out of Demon’s Souls, NG2 didn’t take that long for me to move through last year, and they said in the previews that what they tacked on would take about 20 minutes extra. In any case, it didn’t seem nearly as challenging as the first one on XBox.

The DLC doesn’t count for anything, like the joker rooms, just for the online ranking, i am sure.
If you want a lot of bang for the buck, Demon’s Souls will probably be better than NGS2. It is supposedly an epic-ish RPG, with a lot of difficulty. I imagine that would play longer than an NG game.

NGS2 is said to be over 13 hrs which is very long for that type of game. It’s also supposed to be a lot easier than the the original NGS.

fuck NGS! that game is almost unbeatable…im glad I only payed $20 for it.
But I know many NG freaks that havent been able to beat that game.
** I remember playing FF3 when RPGs were really hard… I saved my game in this freaking hard cave with no *Phoenix Downs*…..and I had 30+ hours into that game. I never beat that game because it didnt want to start over and everytime I loaded my file I tried to get out of the cave alive but failed horribly every single time..
