Modern Warfare 2 to encourage perverts and is GameStop doomed?
With only a month before the next iteration of Call of Duty hits the stores, it seems that there are people out there that are seriously concerned with the Prestige edition of Modern Warfare 2. Apparently, the feeling is that the Prestige edition will cause a surge in the number of peeping tom incidents. Also, there is speculation that GameStop may be in for a rough holiday season as one of the directors sells millions of shares.
The Prestige edition of Modern Warfare 2 has been the butt of many jokes on the Web. Mainly the jabs have been around the ridiculously high price tag of $150. The package comes with a very cheap set of night vision goggles that may be only good for perverts wanting to spy on other people. According to the Daily Star [via Kotaku], there seems to be a bit of concern by the writer that the goggles may be used for peeping by those having difficulty dealing with reality.
That covers practically most hardcore video gamers out there. It will be interesting to see what types of arrest-related stories come out via the Prestige edition.
In other news, Leonard Riggio, director of GameStop off loaded millions of shares recently. According to Gamasutra, Riggio sold 2.3 million shares recently, which is equivalent to $60 million. Insider trading firm, Form4Oracle co-founder Alex Romayev indicated that this is highly unusual for an exec to do unless Riggio desperately needed $60 million quickly, which seems unlikely.
Also the fact that Riggio offloaded millions of GameStop shares right before the holiday is a bit suspicious. Normally, the holiday season is the biggest sales quarter of the year and shares are bound to go up. The fact he sold his shares right before the holiday season indicates that GameStop may be in for some really bad news. There are speculations of mass store closings or even a bad holiday season could be on the cards. Make sure to stay tuned for the latest development.

There’s not a single game on this planet that would make me fork out over £100 just for some gay scopes. Bet they ain’t as good as the real thing because the ones I used were worth a few grand.

gamestop has taken a big hit lately..all the profit comes from selling used games (and stealing your deposit money for reservation), and since bestbuy, toys’r us and blockbuster entered the used game business, Gamestop annual revenue might not be as huge as they were before. I do hope they go out of business. I know ppl who works there and they do some shady stuff there..they are not a customer centric business, they care more for getting you to reserve a game and make you to buy used (sometimes damage/unplayable stuff)

Roca, I buy from there all the time. Every used game I buy I get an additional 10% off. Plus I spend $1-$3 and they guarantee the game from scratches for a year.
Even if my kids scratch the disc they will replace it.

I dont mind buying used (but I rarely do unless there is a big difference in price or if I cannot find the game) but somethings they tried to force to buy a used game with a fake “gamestop” box for $55 when the new only cost $60 or a used game for 17.99 with a fucked up case when the new one is $19.99….sometimes I feel like slaping some of them. I buy w.e the hell I want I dont need an idiot who probably doesnt know anything about games to tell me what to buy. I just bought a PS3 Slim at Best Buy hassle free, but I went first to get it a Gamestop and guess what…Can you believed the gay had the guts to offer me a used 40 Fat PS3 for $230?
I mean how logical is that? $230 40GB used vs $300 120 GB new SLIM.

On a different note – I saw an article in Edge magazine about Wardevil. Looks pretty impressive what they can get out of the 360 and ps3. Looks like a contender for best graphics at the moment. Will be interesting to see how long it takes them to finally release it.

This reminds me of the Fortune Hunter Edition of Uncharted 2 not being sold in stores, you have to win it through “special” contests. It includes a phurba dagger that some nutcase would try to stab somebody else with. If any game gets sold in large quantities there is a good chance that it doesn’t matter if it includes a paperweight, somebody somewhere will misuse it.

GameStop is ok, but lately I’ve been buying almost all of my games through Amazon. It’s cheaper, more covenant, and I don’t have to refuse the pre-orders the GameStop kids are trying to push on me.
Just today I picked up my Uncharted 2 pre-order and the guy was trying to push COD MW 2 on me. I told him about how I was enjoying Demon’s Souls, and how is would keep me busy for the next few months. And then the GameStop guy gave me an angry, annoyed look.

Wow this is just BS who’s really going to use those things for peeping. Girls are so damn easy to get.
I will be getting this and any other non-exclusive games for Xbox 360 only. Since I’m broke. I need a new power brick so bad to play MW2 and Forza 2 look at my gamertag i added this game below.

UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves rules all, PS3 is still the greatest gaming system plus the most fun and my favorite.

Now usually people don’t pick up on what they done untill a few days after the company or whatever has failed if they ever pick up on it at all.
